EVERY TIME I DIE DON’T “WANDER” FAR FROM THEIR FORMULA OF KICKING ASS

NewJunkAestheticI’ve never been that into Every Time I Die (nothing against ‘em… just never really got into them) but for some reason I have this gut feeling that they are about to release an excellent album. New Junk Aesthetic comes out September 15 (check out the awesome artwork in full here), and the band has just posted a new song called “Wanderlust” for streaming on their MySpace page. It’s not as raw and dirty as some of their prior material, but it’s still pretty fucking cool.

Inevitably the MS Haterade Mafia will come out in droves for this one accusing me of pimping the latest “shitcore” band (I’m looking at you, Zilty) but I really don’t see anything “core” about this band, so fuck off. Listen with your ears and not your brains, fuckos, and enjoy this for what it is.

No word yet on the state of Andy Williams’ beard.

    Their older stuff had a more -core feeling while the newer stuff has a southern groove to some of it. But I’ve been a fan of this band since I saw them live, which is where they shine. And the new song is worth diggin. It has more of a Rock feel to it.

    From what I understand, Andy has to shave his beard because of a request made by his best friend’s fiancée. Oh, and this album should be really good.

    I used to be quite into the Shitty Dudes… I respect their new sound but it just doesn’t do much for me anymore. I always thought of Last Night In Town and Hot Damn! as very similar to Glassjaw, with simply more southern twinge and more metal influences. If they had never landed on Ferret, far fewer people would complain about their shitcore-ness.

    Side note: Andy is one of the best fucking dudes ever.

    Even though the band themselves list metal/hardcore/Southern on their Myspace site (hence the ____core tag), this new song is not the least bit ____core. It’s a damn fine groove/hard rock song. Barely metal, but really good.

    Sure, they’re more groove-leaning than core, but it’s not like groove is really much better.

    I have loved this band ever since I saw them with Dillinger Escape Plan (the best show I have ever seen). I have already pre-ordered this album cause from the Marvolus Slut and now this, it sounds like the perfect mix of their math-”core” ness and the southern rock. Amazing. By the way, Emmure sucks. Never post about them again.

    I really dug Gutter Phenomenon from these guys. Their last album was ok, and there were some tracks on there that I really dug. But more to the point, I get Every Time I Die, Megadeth, and Shadows Fall all with new releases on the same day! Time to stop spending money on strippers and beer for a few days…

And in the hardcore/metal world of indistinguishable dime a dozen frontmen, it is refreshing to have a confident, intelligent, charismatic lead singer like Keith Buckley.     I don’t fucking get it. Does Ziltoid hate anything that might possibly be related to hardcore? whats the problem with hardcore? this is groovy stuff, its a tight song from a tight band. who cares what its labeled? there are plenty of doom and sludge bands that suck, just like there are plenty hardcore influenced bands that rock. it’s all about flourishing in your own style and being inventive.
