“GOLIATHON IS A METAL BAND FROM KARMØY, NORWAY”

“Just listen to it! It will blow your mind preblown!”

So read an email that graced the MS Mansion inbox this weekend from Olav S. The first statement is at least half-truth; their MySpace page says they’re from Kopervik, Norway, but who am I to argue? And the band is pretty good; I’m not sure it’s blown my mind, but it’s pretty good… as for “preblown,” I have no idea what the fuck Olav meant there. Listen below, and maybe you’ll figure it out.

    Either I’m getting sick of metal or every band is starting to sound the same. Technically good but boring after a couple minutes. As far as “preblown” I’d have to say that was a total translating failure on their part.

        I know I feel like all bands are blending and then the put out albums that sound like a neverending song.

    They sound alot like Lamb of God, even down to the vocals, pretty sad.

    The production is terrible everything sounds thin. Musically its okay, nothing special.

    I’m not an expert on running, but is a Goliathon the next step up from a marathon? Or is it a new gas station chain?

    FYI, Kopervik is a town on Karmøy, an island.
    On another note, Norwegian band Svölk releases their debut at the end of this month, and will go on a scandinavian tour with Hail. (Tim Ripper Owens, Andreas Kisser, Dave Ellefson).

    Preblown is a Dimebag term from the the “watch it go” – homevideo, the third one in the pantera homevideo series. The dude deserves at least some cred for throwing a Dime refrance. Kind of liked the band to, never heard of them, wierd since i live in Norway.

      Hell yeah. I knew someone on here would remember that. I wouldn’t go giving them credit, though. These dudes probably don’t talk English none too good.
