What could be more grim than recording your black metal album in a cave?

How about doing it without electric guitars! Sodomized by Satan is a one-man bedroom acoustic black metal band out of New York that brings forth the all-out aggression of true early 90s black metal, yet does it with acoustic grace instead of your new, high-tech electric guitars. With each notes strummed, SBS strikes an emotion within the listener’s soul. One second, I feel hatred, the next, I feel more hatred. It’s truly a revealing self-exploration which reveals the contents of one’s soul. SBS are most definitely one of the most cathartic bands out there today, yet they seem to go unnoticed in the metal scene. Their 2009 release, eloquently titled “The Curse of the Ass Pharaohs,” is an easy contender for top album of the year, topping out such greats as Emmure, Emmure, and Emmure. I might even say that this is better than one of the more interesting albums I’ve heard recently (not from 2009), Mental Home – Vale. Yes, I legitimately have this much faith in SBS. Luckily, I contacted the genius behind this band, and he gave me full permission to post a download link to SBS’s entire discography! Be thankful!

    Um. Well, you did say only one sarcasm piece today, so I have to assume you meant all the glowing praise. But…well, there’s a reason heavy metal uses electric guitars for fast picking and palm muting and all that good stuff. I appreciate this guys effort, but…the vocals sound like they were recorded with a cell phone in a thunderstorm and the guitars sound flat and boring, despite the dynamism that may (or may not) be there.

    I get it. It’s underground and true and interesting. But that doesn’t make it worth listening to…

The chilling intonations that make way out of this individual prolongate the inner nihilistic ideals to a grandeur scale. Each subtle strike against the tree made string guitar enhances the mood with its desolate tones and colourfull resonance. The building points of each track is an enduring nod to the intransigent sound of the second wave of black metal. This demo transcends the black metal from form, technicality, and flow in a prodigious manner.

    1. You fucked up the header – “Acoustic black metal to that touches the heart” – the word “to” makes the sentence grammatically incorrect.
    2. Electric guitars aren’t “new” – they’ve been around for a while.
    3. “With each notes strummed…” – singular / plural non-agreeance.
    4. “It’s truly a revealing self-exploration which reveals …” – no shit? That’s pretty fucking revealing!
    5. “They seem to go unnoticed…” & “Their 2009 release…” – it’s a fucking one-man-band, dickhead!
    6. You’re a fuck-up & I hate you.
