They are just sending their condolences, they're actually fucking doing something and taking time out of their busy lives to do something from the heart(be it half-ass songs, it's still something other than a few kind words) I can't imagine how tough it's gotta be to deal with someone in a coma, watching them everyday and just thinking "why can't you just wake up? you're here physically, what has a hold of you?" I'm just glad the Deftones went back into the studio to record more stuff, I can't imagine what kind of crazy thoughts must be going through their head, but hopefully it will produce some more stellar music. I don't think anything could be anymore emotionally telling then some music created by a band going through the same thing at the same time like that. Jewers says:

But on a more serious note, I feel so bad for the Defones crew, but I also am extremely happy that other bands are chipping for the community side of things.
