LISTEN TO A NEW SONG FROM WHAT MIGHT BE THE BEST ALBUM OF 2009

I’m not 100% decided that Baroness’ Blue Record is my favorite album of the year, and there are still some sure-to-be-awesome releases coming (The Red Chord, etc.). But I listened to Blue Record again last night so I could start writing my review, and even if it doesn’t end up at the very top of my year-end list, it’s going to get close. The album is simply awesome.
The band is now streaming “A Horse Called Golgotha” from the album on their MySpace page. It’s a great song on an record full of great songs; you just need check it out. Like, drop what you’re doing and go listen right now. It’s really that good.
Blue Record comes out October 13 on Relapse. I can’t fucking wait for you all to hear it.

I’ve been waiting for this one for a while
That’s the way progressive rock should be written. Incorporated, not blatant “because we can”. That’s a fucking awesome song.
I pretty much decided during this listen that I’m going to seek out the vinyl version of this album, a. because the artwork kicks ass and b. so that I can become an even bigger snob than I already am. Can’t wait!
Awesome.
Not good.
Myspace audio makes my ears sad.
so true.
I’m buying this
Very good. I still love old Baroness for what is, but they definitely stepped into a different, positive direction on this one.
enough with the cocktease already! somebody leak this friggin album!
heres my birthday present
Art and songs are so good. What more can be said? Can’t fleepin’ wait.
I’ve been on a Baroness high lately, so this is great news.
Looking forward to the new album, for sure.
Sweet..
I like this song better than the other song but I don’t think the album will have the same impact as listening to the Red Album for the first time.
I am still excited for it though.
does anyone notice the necklace of dicks??
I see where you are going with that but I think they are supposed to be eggs that are breaking
Dude how the hell are you seeing dicks?
(unless you see dicks everywhere)
yup, them eggs are a dick.
I think they suck. Am I alone?
Their EP’s are awesome. The Red Album is a pile of countrified shit.
So, yes and no. I have a really difficult time believing Blue Record will be better than Kylesa’s Static Tensions or Burnt By The Sun’s Heart of Darkness.
I wasn’t too crazy about “Sweetest Curse” but this tune fucking slays.
