Good call, also check out Funera MIst’s “Maranatha”, Anaal Nathrakh’s “In the Constellation of the Black Widow”, the self titled Absu, all great black metal albums of this year and very different from each other. Also check out Enslaved latest albums so you get an idea of how broad black metal can be as a genre.

Don’t be an idiot. Black metal is probably my least favorite metal genre (well, after power and all the core shit), but there’s some excellent black metal out there. Best album of 2009 (so far at least) is a black metal album. Shining’s “VI – Klagopsalmer”. Look it up.
