BARONESS TOUR IS SURE TO BE ONE OF THE BEST METAL TOURS THIS FALL

baroness u.s. tour

MetalSucks is super-duper-uper psyched to be co-sponsoring the U.S. fall tour for Baroness, whose forthcoming Blue Album is so good that Axl will buy you a hooker if it’s not his favorite album of 2009. Baroness definitely bring the goods live, too. Some time shortly after the release of Red Album I saw the band in a shitty, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in Bushwick that was so makeshift that the furious moshpit kept running up against the restaurant’s tables and chairs stacked against the walls. It was complete fucking mayhem, and though Baroness have now moved on to considerably bigger and better venues, their intensity and passion for their live shows is just the same. Support on the run comes from a rotating cast of characters consisting of Earthless, U.S. Christmas, MetalSucks faves Iron Age, and Dark Castle, all of whom are sure to sweeten up the deal just that much.

Full list of tour dates (with relevant support act info) after the jump.

  17. Aaron says:

Maybe I downloaded a wrong verson, but Axl might have to buy me a hooker. I was REALLY looking forward to this album, and I just don’t like it as well as the last one. Sounds like Torrche at best, and boring at worst.

  18. Bob says:

I really liked their first album but then I saw them in houston last year with opeth and they were awful live. maybe it was just the venue but the mix was terrible, you could barely hear the vocals, and the guitars just sounded bad. All of the songs just kinda blended into each other so you couldn’t really tell when one ended and the next one started. oh well ill give the new album a spin

  19. basslogic says:

Baroness and Pig Destroyer 2 days after my birthday, in my home town,,, oh hell yes

  20. BrandonMetal says:

  22. Kuranes says:

Dark Castle? Isn’t that what Dimmu Borgir means?

  23. Shadrock says:

this band fucking sucks, best album of 2009 my ass.

  24. Love the new record, can’t wait for the tour. Also, US Xmas rock. Saw them open for Mastodon and Neurosis last year in Brooklyn.

  25. Anticosmic says:

First no Canadian dates for the Melvins, then Obscura, and now this. Why does every band seem to ignore Canada

  26. loganarchy says:

I’m seeing them in Atlanta with my friend. He’s wondering if you can mosh to them? He doesn’t think they’re that heavy.
