For one thing, the song is pretty good, but also – bassist Sean Beasley finger taps! When was the last time you saw a friggin’ bass player do any tapping? For shame, metal bassists who aren’t Beasley. For shame.

For the finger tapping thing… most neo-classical bassists do that lol… Necrophagist/Obscura just to name two… Trivium’s bassist does it. So did Cliff Burton.

The last time I saw a bass player tap live was John Myung when I saw Dream Theater. And before that at Summer Slaughter Origins and Necrophagists bass players. I could go on. There is a lot of bass tappages going on in metal.
And Dying Fetus are meeeeeh. I just can’t get into them for some reason.

Yeah, there’s quite a lot of bass tapping going on. Also, Dying Fetus’s bassist has been doing it for years. Let’s see: Origin, Necrophagist, Beneath the Massacre, Obscura, Protest the Hero…. etc etc etc.
I’m sure everyone here hates them, but the bassist from Mudvayne is amazing; he does a lot of tapping/ slapping stuff..
But he is wearing a shirt I have, so that’s killer.
