AMAZING PIANO GUITAR GUY

This video of Rhett Butler covering Joe Satriani is pretty f’n mindblowing. The guy is so dextrous and precise that he can tap out leads with both hands at the same time… how does he do that? In some respect I guess it’s not all that different than what a piano player does, but it’s still really fucking cool.

Not to rain on this guy’s parade, but Stanley Jordan was doing that 25 years ago.

Actually it’s incredibly harder considering that on a piano you don’t have to worry about muting the strings you aren’t playing to keep out sympathetic string noise. This is quite an incredible feat of technique BRAVO! \m/

Sorry guy, but you’re playing the rhythm wrong. Play it the right way, and THEN i’ll be truly impressed. Not to say that this guy is a slack, because what he’s doing I probably wouldn’t be able to do without a years worth of practice, but I can play this song (one part at a time, lol) and the chord structures on the rhythm are what makes the song a little difficult. Well, the first chord mostly, you need long fingers.

damn. very impressed. Feel free to keep posting sweet guitar videos you guys run across.

    Well, it sounds nice.

so many guitarists have pretty good technique, but can’t play in time…. it’s crazy

Vince, you could put a video of Usain Bolt running the 100m or 200m in world record time, shattering his own record, and you’d still have idiots comment that they’re unimpressed, or they could do that with a few years’ practice, or his form was bad. Can’t you numbskulls just enjoy someone’s incredible talent?

And just because Stanley Jordan has been doing it for 25 years doesn’t diminish this guy’s talent. I don’t believe he announced before playing that he was breaking new ground or besting Jordan. Idiot.
