I’ve actually been on one of her recording sessions. I intern at this studio and my boss actually warned me about that session the day before saying, “Look, you really don’t have to come in tomorrow if you don’t want to. Kat is…well, she’s very upfront”. That was an understatement. I spent 10 minutes trying to arrange a light over her hands so that she can play in the dark. That being said, her mother who was also on session was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She was so polite and we even shared some coffee together.

One great thing I got out of that session: I got to meet Charlie Zeleny (at the time, still a member of Behold…The Arctopus), as he was doing the session drums on her record.
