MIDGETS OF BODOM

This is my third Children of Bodom post in as many days. And while I’m sure you’re all sick of hearing about Bodom’s new covers disc, Skeletons in the Closet, this commercial is pretty funny. It was directed by Doug Spangenberg, who you might know as the director of videos for artists such as Lamb of God and Job for a Cowboy. Definitely give this a look-see:

    I didn’t know Children of Bodom was so big…most metal bands with average success cam only afford two midgets, tops. The bigger ones can afford three and a half. The members of Black Sabbath cumulatively have nine. But 6?!?!?! For a melodic DM band?! INSANE!!!

    This definately amused me. I’ve got friends who like Bodom, but I’ve never gotten into them. Let me tell you, this has definately sparked a minor interest.

    I don’t understand why metal bands that, A) are masterful musicians, and / or B) have a sense of humor about their craft are so maligned by the “trv” metal community. Granted, CoB have stopped writing great songs (Blooddrunk sucked, IMO), but their discography is stellar. You can’t listen to Watain all the time.

      They are maligned because they stopped writing good songs.
      You answered your own question….this band hasn’t made anything valid since Hatebreeder.
      When they started to get popular, they seemed to just put their music on cruise control or ran out of decent Ideas.

      Again…there are other Finish bands that kill CoB.
