WE. ARE. STUPID. PIGS.

For a horribly misguided, washed-up hair-metal star who compared Barack Obama to Hitler, it turns out that Blackie Lawless can still kick out the jams. Not only is Blackie Lawless still alive but apparently W.A.S.P have a new album called Babylon coming out on October 12th. Here’s the new single, “Crazy,” sent in by longtime MS Maniac Steve Stamopoulos. And you know what? It ain’t bad.

I think Blackie was merely referring to the mindless following of many of his followers, which isn’t far off, but still a bit inappropriate. However, I was surprised at how good this song was. I had sort of given up on him, as he hasn’t released anything that ranks about “good” in years.

I think Blackie should team up with Black Veil Brides. Blackie Veil Brides. Now that would move some records.

Doesn’t this song sound exactly like Wild Child?

    Well, not exactly but…

I’ve heard a lot of people say that it sounds a bit like Wild Child. I guess after so many years of making music it is inevitable that some of the ideas sound similar.

      • Mike =O says:

Yeah it sounds almost exactly like Wildchild. I’m not going to complain though..the songs not that bad. I wouldnt buy the cd or anything but still.

    • The Greys says:

That’s what I thought. Blackie is plagerizing both himself (”Wild Child”) and Night Ranger (”Don’t Tell Me You Love Me”). And does he sing “craaaazy” just the way the singer did in that pop song a couple years ago? You know the song I’m talking about: “They say I’m craaaaaaaaaazy. Baby, I’m craaaaaaaaaaaazy,” etc., etc. Blackie needs to maybe get a song idea of his own.

Also, the guy was never the world’s best singer, but he just sounds tired here. Oh well.

    • Phil says:

Exactly my thought. Liked it anyway.

I still wanna be somebody, be somebody soon.

  5. It was just kind of blah… I don’t hate, don’t love it. Seemed kind of tame for Wasp

  6. Bob says:

Still jam The Neon God regularly to this day

  7. I’m glad he’s playing hard rock again and not that ill-advised industrial metal he was doing a few years ago. I still think ‘The Headless Children’ is his best work.

  8. LEGIONS: IRON AND STEEL says:

W.A.S.P. is hardly what I would call “hair metal”. Chainsaw Charlie, Thundahead and the Heretic are among the greatest heavy metal songs ever.

As far as this sounding like “wild chid”, Blackie openly admits to being “influenced” by his past work.In interviews he refers to it as “cannabalizing” his own material.

Seriously? 1985 called and they want their shitty music back…I’m a big fan of the past in regards to metal, but for fucks sake LEAVE IT THERE! That song was cool THEN not NOW…honestly, posts like this make me question why i read your shitty blog

I sort-of-liked wasp back in the day, and then they sort of faded away for a long time. Then i discovered about 5 years after it came out the Crimson Idol and it blew me away .. as influential as Operation Mindcrime is for me.. in fact it is Blackie’s Operation Mindcrime.

Since then I’ve found myself enjoying his other material and new releases reasonably well. Once WASP clicks in your head hes a very consistent artist and youll enjoy most of his work- hes very consistent in quality .. and yes style therefore the similarity to his past works.

How many emo-bitches on here have had their mangina period all over the blog about how they wish metal band X still sounded like album #1 or #2? So heres Blackie doing exactly that and then the flow starts.

Better put the pad in your pre-menstrual princess blues are showing T.

you guys just cant help yourselves when it comes to shoving your political beliefs down our throats

  12. Chaan says:

    Lol

You mean that they STILL put him in a back room of the studio so that no one can hear his voice

  13. liberals are stupid says:

Vince, you are the stupid one. TV and movies are practically ALL misinformed liberal shit. We are never told all that is going on by govts. Think for yourself and hopefully you will get a clue. How do things really work? Just THINK about it. Don’t just believe everything you hear. Obama and socialism suck. People need to take care of themselves not wait for scraps from the almighty govt. Sure it would be great if everything were free, but that is not how it works. When my electricity is free and non polluting, and I don’t need money to live, and am not being tracked by a govt and insanely taxed, then maybe the world could begin to become a better place for everyone. Until then, it is just a fantasy. Give me a fucking break idiots.
