THEN WHAT’S IT LIKE WHEN EPICA ARE LEASHED?

I’m just sayin’. This is pretty tame for it to be “Unleashed.”

Also, new rule: videos cannot jump through time and announce said jump through time with a card that says “X amount of time later.” You’re working in a truncated format, directors. Deal with it.

Reader Nate Schwartz sent us this video, with the promise that it’s “like Nightwish, but with cooler guitar bits.” Since I don’t like Nightwish, this was maybe not Nate’s strongest sales pitch. Still, I recognize that a lot of you like this band and it’s definitely not the worst thing I’ve heard today, so here ya go.

“Unleashed” comes off of Epica’s new album, Design Your Universe, which comes out October 16 in Europe and November 3 in the U.S. on Nuclear Blast.

    saw these guys live a few years back with Symphony X, pretty fucking awesome IMHO. simone can really belt it out, and i have a thing for gingys :)

    Epica kicks fucking ass. Not many power metal bands could do an almost completely instrumental record and do it well, but Epica is one of the few that can.

    I love how all the comments about this band are actually pretty positive. It is like circa 2000-Nightwish, and Fallen-era Evanesence. Ah, the good days. And that chick is pretty hot. And she doesn’t flaunt it like some others do, which makes it more powerful and gives her some respect. So that’s another plus for not using sex appeal.

      I kinda see what your saying but realize this is the first single off the new album. It has to be “poppy” to a certain extent or at least have a bit of a larger audience appeal. Their usual output is far different. Just listen to songs like Death of a Dream or Fools of Damnation. Heavy (and proggy) shit. They are probably the heaviest band to have the label of female symphonic band. And these guys are just awesome.

    Most boring live band I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing open for another band (Symphony X). I wanted to fall asleep, and I damn well would’ve if it wasn’t loud like it was.

    The music is also REALLY boring. Not offensive or anything, just horribly boring.

    Singer has awesome tits but that’s the only thing going for this shitsandwhich…OOOF
