In case you’ve somehow never seen it before, watch this old PSA from the 70s:

Now watch the new Within Temptation video. It’s probably best to put your computer on mute first, though, because – and I say this as someone who is a sucker for a good power ballad – the song is aural diarrhea.

The director of that terrible video for that terrible song is named Oscar Verpoort. But I will forever remember him as Oscar Verpoop, the man whose greatest cinematic inspiration is the “Crying Indian” commercial that starred an Italian guy dressed as an Indian.

Also, if you like Within Temptation, get to a doctor and have yourself checked for brain herpes.

    i have to agree with other commenters tho, whilst i don’t listen to within temptation, they’re better than listening to, say, fallout boy. shittiness is relative.

    what the fuck? within temptation actually has a bunch of good songs, BUT THIS???
    unbelieveable how so many good/average bands just turn into major shit.
    one interesting thing is, that within temptaion aint gonna get any new fans with this, they’re just gonna lose alot of old ones…

    That one song they did… Julia?… some girls name, I don’t remember… was really great. Top of the heap for me as far as watered down metal with girl singer bands like Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, etc go. Unfortunately, it sounds like nothing else they’ve ever done.

    Man Oh Man,I’ve been visiting Metal Sucks daily for well over 2 years now & not once have I disagreed with something on this site- till now.Granted this isn’t the greatest of Within Temptation songs but over all I think,actually I know,the band is awesome.Regardless,Metal Sucks is fucking amazing-even though your opinion of Within Temptation sucks worse then a Limp Bizkit cover band playing Nickleback songs while being covered in 450 pounds of llama shit.

    Actually as a song, this isn’t bad material. As to be classified as any type of metal, I would have to say the rest of the album would need to be much heavier to allow this as metal.

    I dunno. I like it, but old Nightwish, like 2000-era was better. But I wouldn’t say this is bad at all. The video… enh, don’t care for videos much. I’m more into the actual song.

    And by the way, I think it’s interesting that nothing has been said at all on this site about Pearl Jam’s new record. It’s really good. And I know that they’re not metal, but that never really stopped MS before. Not even one post. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing or a good thing. Just interesting.
