St. Louis jazzy prog-metallers Lye By Mistake, who we reported last week signed with Guy Kozowyk’s Black Market Activities label, have a new song called “Invincible Badass” streaming on Lambgoat. Says Lambgoat, “If you’re a rational human being with good taste in music, you’ll like it,” and we concur. Better news yet, the song comes from their sophomore effort (and first on BMA) Fea Jur, due October 13th. This record is going to impress a lot of people, my friends.
While we’re on the topic of Black Market Activties, experimental metallers Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza will be working on recording their new album Danza III: The Series Of Unfortunate Events this November, and in the meantime have posted a new track called “Yippiekayay Motherfucker” on their MySpace page. It’s heavy as fuck, it’s grindy, it’s tech-y, it’s brutal. I’ve never been much into this band before, but the track’s got me excited for their new record.

I played this song on my radio show on Tuesday. It’s the most traditionally metal song on the new album. And yes, the new album is completely instrumental, but they had a singer on their last one.
Call me unsophisticated, but they need a vocalist to keep my attention. I’m all for an instrumental tune here or there, but I won’t listen to an entire album. Vocals are as important an instrument as any other, if not moreso.
In case anyone’s interested, Lye By Mistake’s new album seems to already be for sale at Amazon’s digital store. I might have to pick it up.
I really like that new TDTE song. I am lovin the low guitars and hardcore(not death metal) vocals.
im liking the new Danza track…. i liked Danza II, not a fan of their self-titled… maybe i need to give it another listen.

Great band and really nice guys. And yeah Lye By Mistake are awesome too…
1:20 to 2:20 of the new Danza track is my favourite piece of music of 2009. Just wait til this has some production muscle behind it… !!
