BELPHEGOR = LULZ

I’ve always felt that Belphegor are silly. There are plenty of black metal bands that I do not find silly, who for all intents and purposes dress, look and sound exactly like Belphegor . It’s just that whenever I see Belphegor I feel the uncontrollable need to giggle. Perhaps it’s because they’re so serious-looking all the time… what’s more hilarious than being super-serious? This new video for “Der Geistertreiber” does little stop my giggling.

If Belphegor do not make you giggle too, you might like to know that their new album Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn will be released via Nuclear Blast on October 20th (N. America) and October 9th (Europe).

    I don’t know guys. This video seems the very definition of “metal” to me. The flying goat things are pretty sweet. You can’t tell me someone came up with that idea with a straight face.

    I agree, I found it very entertaining, funny and totally METAL But anyway, Why are there only shots of the singer and the bass player? Where are the other members of the band? Were they the evil satanic spirits running around in the woods?

    Most Black Metal bands make me laugh. The “I’m so evil” schtick is amusing.

    That said, this song is alright. Nice bass lick. Singer looks retarded.

    Saw them with Warbringer, Exodus, and Kreator. They were all using bodom’s old Jackson signature’s. Which is funny because bodom used to be a lot more black metalish. Then I cracked up wen the singer put on the mask that he is wearing at 1:22 in the video. They were so out of place with all of the thrash bands on that bill.

      I sincerely always wondered what the fuck they were doing on that bill.Belphegor is not thrash metal at all,and it doesn’t really blend in all that well with thrash metal bands.

      I gotta say I am not a fan of this band nor am I a fan of their new release.My personnal review can be read on my MySpace blog,just click on my nickname and you will be taken there.

      I agree that this band is extremely cheesy and something I also noticed is that they borrow from other bands while forgetting to come up with their own identity.
