I’m fine with 256-320kbps quality (FLAC takes up too much space) but I like to have the CDs instead of just downloads for some reason….I don’t know…Just feels more secure (though some of those look pretty good)

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about Akercocke on this site. They kill, “Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone” is awesome. I highly recommend that you check it out if you’ve never heard of them before. Sleep, Entombed, and Cult of Luna are also being represented by some excellent records on this list.

I was really excited when I saw the image, but then I saw it was on iTunes. I’m not an audio quality snob, to be honest I cannot tell the difference (though I tell myself there is) between itunes quality and cd quality (maybe a little). But… Arthur Von Nagel said it best- if you’re going to download something, do it for free (he actually said that he can understand why people would do that).
