I’m willing to bet, the version you grew up with and love, isn’t even the original.. it’s the secodn versioin off introduce yourself.. the original is off the We Care A Lot album,…
this album is typical Mosley.. and more like the work he did in cement, than FNM.. and as you appear to be uninformed I’ll point out that Piledriver is a reworking of a cement track too.. this album is heavy crunchy, drifty floaty, balls to the wall rock.. and the reversioning of We Care A Lot is great…. it’s long overdue…

I really don’t know whats the point of that cover. Everyone recognise Chuck’s talent in the official We care a Lot version (the one from Introduce Yourself which I like the most). And what about this one? He adds new lyrics, new mixes but the old one affects better. It says much more with simple and expressive lyrics. The track keeps the energy of its time and can’t be beaten by the new remix. Stop ruin the old classics!

I love FNM’s records with Chuck, but this new version of We Care A Lot sucks a big fat one.

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I never heard of Chuck’s Cement stuff. I was surprised on how good the record is. It makes me wonder why he has been inactive for so long. Chuck is a great punk rock frontman. I think this Chuck record is just as good a record as some FNM records. Maybe not as good as AD or KFAD, but it’s on par with TRT or AOTY. The people who don’t like Chuck are the same ignorant people who hear FNM play As The Worm Turns or Death March or Mark Bowen and think it’s a new song. Pre-Patton FNM is great stuff too.

it’s funny you out yourself as having done zero research for this article considering that not only does Jon Davis of Korn appear on this disc but also that he and the rest of Korn are constantly talking about Chuck’s influence on them.
i can understand if you do not like the material as it is not for everyone and is clearly not metal, but the whole album is good hard rock with other influences mixed in beautifully. Chuck has great style, lyrics, and his voice has improved a lot over the years now that he is taking vocal duties seriously.
anyways, good luck with this half assed website and as long as your happy putting no effort into your articles i am sure great things will happen for you.

Did no one tell Chuck not to talk with his mouth full? I was expecting worse, but it’s certainly the weakest version of the song.

Though it may not be the “original”, I think Introduce Yourself’s version is easily as good as the original from the s/t. I would’ve liked to have heard a couple more of the songs (besides We Care A Lot and later, As The Worm Turns) given a second shot in the studio.

This might have worked better without the rambling. Or the cheap Limp Bizkit ripoff. I had a hard time making it past “Rollin’, rollin’…”

Oh and by the way, that “actual” version of WCAL is not the original. It is also a remake for the Introduce Yourself album. If you want the original, go find the very first FNM album with the same name. That is the one I grew up with which over shadows the one you love so much. Hhmmm, maybe I should write an article that glorifies that version while bashing this one. Grow the fuck up!

I actually purchased this CD. And while this may not be THE defining moment of the album, you shouldn’t down the whole thing or even the artist just because YOU YOURSELF don’t like one song. This CD actually has a number of great songs, (even the dick that wrote this said he liked Tractor, go figure) This cover of WCAL is not the best version, I certainly agree, but what about the cover of Pile Driver, a song originally done by Cement? Oh you never heard of Cement? Well that might be because you have had your head up your ass for the past 20 years after Chuck left FNM. Cement was Chucks band formed after fronting Bad Brains on tour. While doing a promotional tour for the second album, the tour bus got into an accident and Chuck broke his back, (hence the reason he has been out of the spotlight for the past 15 years. Maybe if you did a little research on something before talking shit, you won’t make yourself out to look like such a jackass! BUY THE FUCKING ALBUM AND REVIEW THE WHOLE THING BEFORE YOU TALK SHIT FROM NOW ON, ASSHOLE!!!
