But reader Shane Gillis sent it in this morning, and anything with midgets, shredding, and Dio-esque vocals can’t be all bad.
This shit is ridiculous. It’s also metal as fuck.

Dude I love this fucking song! Me and my college room mate/best friend used to listen to this shit all the fucking time. In the hall…………………………….of the mountain kiiiiiiiiiing!!!
Man, Savatage is so cool.
This suprised the shit out of me One of best bands from Florida along with the Death and Morbid Angel
One of my favorite bands. Bummer to see them so under-appreciated nowadays. Here’s to holding out that they still do a 25th anniversary reunion/tour like Jon Oliva’s mentioned before…
It’s worthy of mention that Shane’s favorite part is the 3 minute mark
On another note Criss Oliva is the shit
These guys and Kings-X are so underrated and under appreciated. All of their albums are solid metal (Savatage), and this might be one of the best music videos ever, for reasons stated above.
This was all the rage on Headbanger’s Ball way back when. This is an incredible album, and the ones before it were pretty damn good. After it there were some real stinkers, with the living Oliva trying the rock opera route.
Savatage Fuckin rule. God I miss Criss Oliva….
criss oliva = megastud
I hate how Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) prolly makes more moneys than Savatage ever thought of.
Still I enjoy both.
The title made me think we were talking about the Beastie Boys for a minute there…
One of the greatest metal songs of all time. There, I said it.
Also try the song of the same name on Rainbow’s Stranger In Us All.

Wow, Metalsucks actually posts about a good band for once.
Yeah I fuckin loved Savatage when I was a kid. Listened to Hall of the Mountain King and Power of the Night heaps. It’s nostalgic to listen to, and I can still appreciate the musicianship, but can’t really get into the high-pitched vocals anymore; these days I prefer the death growl (which, funnily enough, I couldn’t stand back then).
