ok, let’s have a little history lesson
1. Motley Started the entire Glam Metal genre
2. “Gender Bending” was one of the most masculine things in the early 80′s
3. my generation actually doesn’t like motley and are being dumb asses by taking the late 80′s into the now.
4. yes they should have stuck to their promise
5. yes they shouldn’t have wasted time on the new greatest hits album
6. yes they did peak with Dr.Feelgood, and they should have just stopped with that
7. and finally just for kicks, yes it was amazing that they re-released all their original albums on 12″ vinyl

They HAVE to put out a new Greatest Hits every so often. See, they own their own music, unlike most other bands in which the record company owns them. They have a distribution contract with a company, and when that contract expires they have to make a new greatest hits for a new company. You cant go to Best Buy and buy the old greatest hits albums because those distribution contracts are expired. It has nothing with the band being lazy.

I’m 18 and think that Motley Crue is awesome, and so is Sixx A.M. But i do agree that this greatest hits album is pointless. But wtf is the point of making a webpage about it??? They’re still gonna release it anyway, so why waste your time?? Do’nt fuckin talk shit about other band that you don’t like just bcuz u don’t like them. There’s probably a stupid ass band that you like and other people think sucks. So swing that judgmental pendulum back your way, and see hoe you would feel if that happened to you.

Aleezy may be right about contract stipulations backing them into a corner, but this is also the band that…

1.) once said they would never go on as Mötley Crüe if it wasn’t Mick, Tommy, Nikki and Vince.
2.) once said they would never release a live album.

They went back on both, of course.

The s/t with John Corabi is a decent album, but not enough people gave it a chance; John wasn’t Vince, John didn’t sound like Vince and the album didn’t end up sounding like Dr. Feelgood II. The tantrum ended and we got Generation Swine, an album with only song I’ve bothered to listen to more than a couple times – and here’s a hint: it’s not one of the original songs. Fortunately, things have gotten better since then.

I do wish they’d honored the second promise about no live albums. I’ve heard some of the live tracks and a few of them I wish I hadn’t. It’s made me feel a little bit better about not going to see Vince live the times he’s played here.

Maybe for the lastest incarnation of Greatest Hits, we’ll also get the joy of having multiple versions or store exclusive bonus tracks.
