There is simply no other school like it, it was a really cool experience. Like any other school however, simply going there isn’t going to help you “make it” or even be a good a player, it’s up to you to use their resources to progress on your own. With that said I got to study with such dudes as Rod Morgenstein and Mike Mangini to name a few. If you can get in, it’s well worth it.

I’m surprised none of you ever mention Mike Keneally & Bryan Beller (the other half of live Dethklok) these guys are the shit. I was lucky enough to share the stage with them for a recent trio set:

A lot of comedy writers are knocking Seth these days and I can’t blame them. Seth was never very original but what he did somehow worked with Family Guy. People are just pissed he’s getting paid so much money to do essentially the same damn thing over and over again.

While the practical side of me imagines she must have been gift shopping for a grandchild or something, I have seen several elderly people at different metal shows who were totally into it and not merely chaperoning underage fans, and so the romantic side of me fantasizes she was shopping for herself. Either way, I still call “METAL” on that one!

I assume he’s talking about Seth MacFarland… It’s gotten out of hand with how there are 3 shows that are essentially the same with The Cleveland Show, American Dad, and Family Guy. I know that the shows are popular — and I enjoy them — but come on, at least show some originality. I don’t see how they’ll be able to maintain popularity with so much over-exposure…

That said, I’m really looking forward to the new season of Dethklok. The show is easily one of my top favorites, when a lot of new shows just don’t cut it anymore.(How many goddamn cop/crime dramas are there?)

Anyways, I had a funny experience when I was picking up the new Alice in Chains CD at Best Buy the other day…

Some little old blue-haired lady was looking very confused in the Music Section, and seeking the help of the attendant. Finally, she asks him, “Young man, could you help me find — Oh, what the devil is it — The new Dethklok CD?” I couldn’t help but think of Skwisgaar’s GMILF fetish… Definitely a moment of Zen.
