…but apparently she’s going to be the new keyboardist in Winds of Plague, at least for their upcoming tour. A press release tells us that she used to be in Kittie and Day of Contempt, if that means anything to anyone.

Here’s what I’d like to know: do you think they ever even for a second considered getting a dude keyboard player? I’m not at all opposed to chicks in metal bands, but it’s not like Kristen Randall did backing vocals or whatever – literally any capable keyboard player should, theoretically, be able to fill Randall’s shoes. If a woman happens to be the best musician for the job, swell. But if you’re just swapping out one pretty face for another…

        I’m going to have to agree. In that band, that’s all the keyboardist is good for, flashing breasts. I mean, when they played Reloaded live she got off the keyboard set and screamed into the mic, but you couldn’t even hear her. And it’s not like she’s playing keyboards fora melodeath or symphonic metal band, she’s just doing an atmospheric sound, rather poorly I might add.

    A guy did record the keys for Decimate the Weak, thats why theyre good lol…..

    Kristen was added as they were about to set off for their first tour to support that record with Stick to Your Guns…
    I was a lucky boy to see one of Kristens first shows with the band in a tiny ass roller rink in San Jose…

      She does that live for their Wigger-filled outro song “ReLoaded.” You really can’t hear her mic at all. Trust me. I’ve had to sit through their bullshit twice. There’s no keys in that song, and rather than just look useless (which she already was) she decides to look like she’s integral to the band.

        i laughed when they played that song. well, i laughed harder. laughed the whole set and had to take a break during the rest. at least she was cool enough to be hanging out and watching the bands before her band. the rest of the dbags were hiding out in their bus.

    Kristen Randall did do backing vocals. Listen for any harmonies. And the intro to Decimate the Weak. AND she did a LOT live. She did a LOT more than she got credit for. She actually WAS a huge part of the band… listen to “One Body Too Many” and tell me that song would be just as good without keys. Or pretty much any of their music. Her high screams are better than Johnny’s, even though his high screams aren’t even really high. Soo. Before people bash on musicians, they should do their research. Just sayin.

    i enjoyed Kristen’s contribution to WoP, i like Decimate (except reloaded) and parts of stone war. i like her vocals on the CD n live way more than the guys. i was already blowin my wad over her when i saw her pix in revolver magazine, and it was fun letting her know i wanted her to have my baby at slaughter fest last year…
