BARONESS’ JOHN BAIZLEY IS A NOISECREEP
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 at 3:00pm by Axl RosenbergI’m posting this video interview our friends at Noisecreep conducted with Baroness’ John Baizley for two reasons:
- Baroness is awesome and their new album, The Blue Record, is the cat’s pajamas.
- It was edited by our friend Tommy Wee. Tommy’s not even really that big a metal guy, but even he thinks The Blue Record is frickin’ sweet.
Enjoy.

He probably thinks it’s ‘frickin sweet’ because half of the record sounds like it could be on college radio. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to find out that people who hate metal like this album. Not saying it’s bad, I did enjoy it, but it can’t compare to the Red Album.
You’re right. It’s much better. I loved that record, but this one is absolutely phenomenal next level shit. And I’m sure people who hate metal will dig this, because it transcends a good amount of genres.
wow. that is one sweet ass beard. I fully expect a forty page book to be published on this blog about it.
I’m from Lancaster, PA, so I’ll be checking out his gallery display.
brilliant artist.
I bought Blue Record two days ago, and on the first two tracks, I thought I was listening to Mastodon. Then the songs went on and I have to say now they sound nothing like Mastodon in the end of the album and they are GREAT!
This interview is entirely consistent with the band’s work: intelligent and well-spoken, but not flashy or arrogant. Seems like a genuine dude with real talent.
Seems like a good dude. Shame the new album is one of the most ridiculously hyped examples of mediocrity I’ve heard in years.
new album is harder to get into then Red, The drums are back in the mix a bit too much, big mistake. But all in all it is great, different from the last, and great.
