He was front man for Canada's Headstones (R.I.P.) - one of the country's best live acts during the '90's' through 2003. No shit - Headstones were a really good band live and, if you saw them, you know what I'm talking about. The guy is busy as an actor now (Durham County is a really good television show) and, has a band called Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir.
