THROWDOWN were a GREAT hardcore band.. Now they have changed their sound all thanks to the Singer realizing he sounds a bit like Phil Anselmo… He has ruined a great band.

I think it sounds alot like Lamb Of God, and In Flames on “The Soundtrack To Your Escape”.
I’m only on the first song though.

Ok. yeah on track two he does sound likky Sully Erna.
Not good. In fact, track two MIGHT IN FACT NE GODSMACK.

How can a band sound “exactly” like Pantera if their guitarist doesn’t incorporate shredding, dive-bomb solos? Again, mutually exclusive.

Seriously, I’ve always found them to be influenced by, but not a rip off of Pantera (with a few exceptions scattered throughout).

Pantera I never got into, and Throwdown do just as little for me.

Why do they still bother with them ‘parental advisory’ things? No parents ever take notice of them anymore. At least, if they are to be used, they should be put on as stickers on the jewel case, not as part of the album art. There was another album some time ago, I forget which, that had a nice cover art I quite liked that was ruined with a ‘parental advisory’ logo stuck on the corner. Any expressive qualities and whatnot expressed through the artwork are killed stone dead.

I’ve listened to this entire album a couple of times already, and it’s actually worse than it’s described as being above. Not only are they ripping off Pantera (that’s expected), they’re also ripping off Down and Mudvayne on this album. It’s really, really bad.

Even though their live shows our a blast and their jams are aggressive and fun in that tongue in cheek kind of way, the fact remains that Throwdown is still a bland, run of the mill tough guy, straight-edge metallic hardcore band (even if the tough guy part is a joke as well). The entirety of “Haymaker” consisted of the same lyrics written 13 different times in slightly different ways, and although they’ve strayed away from the sXe image and infused more of that southern, Pantera-like sound, they’re still boring old Throwdown. I enjoy them for what they are; mindless breakdowns and pointlessly aggressive lyrics, but reviewing them just seems like a moot point at this juncture.

This album is a straight 6/10 if I ever did see one.

It’s a shame too, because they are pretty fun live.

You are insulting Pantera. Please stop doing this. You are making yourself look like an asshole and everyone associated with this website look like a HUGE bunch of assholes.

I beg the editors to stop letting your writers take steaming dumps on Pantera’s name. Plus, you are making me hate Throwdown when I am usually only mildly irritated by them.
