KORN YOUTUBE VOCAL COVERS; ALMOST AS BAD THE ORIGINALS

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 4:00pm by

When the biggest breaking story of the day is the revival of Skold, you know it’s a slow news day. So why not turn to YouTube for some vocal cover lulz? Let’s dive head-first into the bedrooms of America’s teenagers via YouTube to see the funniest vocal covers of the mighty Korn (see also: The Limp Bizkit Collection).

First up we have this guy. He claims to have been drunk when he recorded it. And?

This one’s priceless. I feel terrible making fun of it because we were all these dudes once upon a time… but yeah, still:

Nice job staying on-camera, douche:

Awwwwwww, cute:

“Make Me Bad” is perhaps the only Korn song I actually like. Check out this dude’s hilarious head-bob move during the choruses:

And finally, that terrible sound must come courtesy of the Dr. Pepper microphone, right? Right?:

“This one’s priceless. I feel terrible making fun of it because we were all these dudes once upon a time… but yeah, still”

    and…

““Make Me Bad” is perhaps the only Korn song I actually like”

So you never liked Korn when you covered “Blind” back in the day? Just saying…

Also, when will kids learn how fucking stupid they look while recording themselves? Thank goodness I grew up before YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, etc., as I cringe at what stupidity I may have recorded myself doing when I was 14.

    • TonyT

Dude, I think he was trying to say that we have all acted like those douches once upon a time, not that he actually covered the song “Blind” itself.

  • Brian \m/(-_-)\m/

funny u say that, make me bad is also pretty much the only korn song i like. huge fan of that one

  • tyler09

    trrible just trrible

  • Luke

I would say that Korn (and Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Incubus, etc) are better than 75% of the bands covered on this site. No joke. There’s no meaningless wankery, just songwriting (they know it’s cheesy guys, it’s the 80s hip hop influence). They channel Faith No More (that should be enough right there). And, despite playing the same genre, you can tell them apart instantly (can’t say the same for a lot of metal bands). I’m talking more about their earlier albums of course, but there is always hope for the future… I know I’m gonna get shit for all this, but at least I know I’m right. Nu-metal (can be) a lot better than you elitists give it credit for.

This dude did a pretty decent job too.

    • Luke

I was talking about the Twist cover in that last line.

    • IAmTheClitCommander

I thought the last Deftones album, Saturday Night Wrist, was awesome.

      • loose nut

        every deftones album is awesome.

    • Jimmy

Oh wow, a metal site writing bad things about Korn. Cool story, bro.

Whether you all like to admit it or not, Korn and the like accounts for quite a large chunk of metal heads this generation. Without Korn, a lot of us wouldn’t have got into heavy music.

      • Jimmy

how the hell did this comment get all the way up here?

    • http://reaper-x.deviantart.com/ Reaper-X

Don’t include Deftones and Incubus in that bullshit.

      Well said dude.

  • Ben

Way to write a properly worded headline Vince.

  • SonOF

Did you say that “Make Me Bad” was the only Korn song you ever liked? Ummm..I mean, it’s usually universally accepted even by the worst of Korn haters, that the band did at least a COUPLE of decent songs back in the day (about half or so of the the self-titled, “No Place to Hide”, “ADIDAS” “Wicked” off “Peachy”, “Freak on a Leash,” some other tracks off “Follow the Leader”..that’s when I stopped listening at least), but “Make Me Bad” IS NOT one of those acceptable ones. ;)

    • stu1

      I thought ADIDAS was dreadful.

      • Alex P.

Same. And Freak on a Leash tosses salad.

Korn just kind of suck too bad to really merit any hate. Like, they’re too bad at sucking. It’s not fun to hate, like Faith Factor or Nickelback. It’s just empty, lifeless, boring late ’90′s arena schlock, which people inexplicably enjoy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Rik-Powell/286400508 Rik Powell

Wicked? Seriously? Make Me Bad is better than most of the songs you listed…

      • SonOF

I actually hate “Wicked,” and pretty much all the songs on “Peachy” except for maybe two…I was going by what I thought was the consenus…Personally I like (or can tolerate) about 75% of the self-titled album, a couple off “Peachy,” and about half of “Follow the Leader”…..I know a lot of people hate “Follow the Leader,” but I was young and impressionable when that album came out (about 16-17 years old), so I dug some of it…I never followed them after that album, and only heard a few songs here and there off the subsequent albums…none of them did much for me.

  • vaste burai

Why do these fucktards HAVE to have a “mic” to sing?? dr. pepper bottle?!?really?!? you look douchey enough as is without sucking on a bottle

  • http://hehe joss

    GWARG YROUR RRERAERRDY!

  • Mark

    GWARE YOU HUNGGGRY!

If only Korn commercialized that song for food delivery marketing purposes . . .

there’s a place inside my tummy
a place I like to stuff
    you don’t know the chances
    I COULD THROW UP

  • http://reaper-x.deviantart.com/ Reaper-X

Make Me Bad is the only song most people can agree with because there’s a possibility of salvaging a song out of that bullshit.

  • cosk

“This one’s priceless. I feel terrible making fun of it because we were all these dudes once upon a time… but yeah, still”

i was never one of these dudes… i was listening to tool and shit and getting into drugs. I knew one of these dudes but he was never me.

    • The Rev’rend

      Well, good for you.

  • Dave

Does that kid in the 4th video move away from the mic to breathe?

  • LuciferSam

thanks for posting this, jerks! now i have to go listen to korn.

    :(

  • tomtheweatherman

Seriously, kids still listen to Korn? They have been embarrassingly irrelevant for far too long for people to be doing this stupid shit. These latchkey kids need to keep that ego in check.

    • hiver4

      shut up korn forever..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • braincake

only korn song i ever liked was blind.

  • http://www.solidsterecords.com NoCowNoFood
