  1. I'm not racist, but I hate Oceano says:

Fuck I meant to go to this.

  2. Brendan Seigel says:

Holy shit, I was at this show! I was wondering who that photographer was representing, she didn’t look like any sort of magazine photographer.

That was a killer show, though Converge SUCKED. It sounded like my dog barking at the door with musical accompaniment

I love how metal fans always complain about regular people blowing off metal as just angry guys yelling then turn around and do the same thing to converge.

      • Its not just the vocals (which are monotone screaming), even the instrumentals are just repetitious without a hint of melody…Ill listen to a car accident if I want that obnoxious sound in my ears. I know some people like “noisecore,” but I prefer a hint of melody in my music.

        • stu1 says:

You should really try listening to an album or something then.

          • Lybrium says:

            “without a hint of melody…”

Converge has more than a hint of melody in most of their tracks, “See You Next Tuesday” might be closer to what you are explaining.

        Not all metal is good….

It is incredible how divided thoughts on Converge are. It really is a love or hate thing. I absolutely love them, but i’ve also been listening to them for close to 15 years.
I definitely understand that they are an acquired taste, but in my opinion Axe to Fall is one of my top 3 albums of the year.
Seeing them in small clubs in Albany in Poughkeepsie, and just seeing the emotion Jacob has really drew me in and I haven’t looked back since.

    • cougar party says:

I thought Converge was okay. Seeing them on this tour was my first exposure to them. I was a not big fan of the vocalist, but I thought the instrumental work, particularly the guitar, was interesting.

      I AM a magazine photographer.
      haha.

agree with the killer show comment, but I think converge wasn’t bad. they put on a good show.

      • SourDeez says:

Everyone at the NY show was talking shit about them too. I don’t get it…they’re good. Their set wasn’t amazing because it was ridiculously short and their sound was bad, as it always is for the opening band on a major tour. But it certainly wasn’t bad. They had great energy and great riffs.

    • West Virginia says:

a dog getting run over by a lawn mower sounds better than converge

  3. RockOutWithMy...YouKnow says:

awesome… I wish I could see this lineup again. What a phenemonal fucking show!!!

  4. TXHellbilly says:

Fuck yeah, they will be in Dallas next wednesday and I am DEFINITELY not missing this.

  5. NoCowNoFood says:

Best Pics: Converge 9, HOF 4, D L ones where generic and from MasT Mastodon 11

  6. This was such a fun show with the exception of Mastodon boring the hell out of me, once again playing all of Crack the Skye. I very much enjoy Mastodon but they’ve gotten boring live these last few years. Hey but at least they played the Bit.

  7. Facebook User says:

I can’t believe I am missing this show in Atlnata tonight. Fuck.

  8. pigchop says:

    2,7,9 – bravo!

  9. tjangles says:

That show was my favorite to date. Tops Opeth and Metallica for sure.

  10. WowWee! says:

Can’t wait till the 18th for this. So did Mastodon come on after Dethklok?

    • RockOutWithMy...YouKnow says:

No Mastodon was co headlining so they were on before Deathklok, which I like, because I’m not a big Deathklok fan so I watched 2 of their songs than got out and stole like 7 lighters outside of Hammerstein!

  11. Brian \m/(-_-)\m/ says:

was at this show!!!! woot. and it was sick. converge didnt do it 4 me, but jacob bannon is very entertaining 2 watch, and i think its pretty cool they do their own sound checks. it was rly fun like when they yelled into the mics to check them, the entire crowd yelled back and the guy on bass was like “fuck, this is so surreal.” lol. lots of fun. and i was standing outside the parking lot after the show handing out megadeth endgame stickers for roadrunner, which rocked, and i got free DT autographs out of it :D

  12. Facebook User says:

I reeeeeeeeally wanted to go to this!

  13. Dan Marsicano says:

Photos came out great. The show was awesome, especially seeing Mastodon for the first time playing Crack The Skye front to back. Say what you will about Converge’s sound, but they put on a hell of a live show. The most energy I’ve seen out of any band in a long time.

  14. Brrrrrrt says:

The other day a 14 year old girl stopped me in the streets of Geneva and asked me if my tee was a Converge one … A bit surprised, I answered “yes” and she replied (with her high pitched voice) something like “I absOooOoOOoooOlutely loOOooOooOOooOve this band ! There are aAaaAAaAaaAAaawesome ! YeEeEeeeEEeEEah !”

She left and I stayed in the middle of the street for a while repeating “what the fuck just happened ?!?!”

She was just 14 ! Since when 14 year old kids in Geneva know Converge ?!?!

I certainly missed an episode or an entire season !

  15. SHOCKTROOP says:

really wanted to go to this show, but the Phillies where playing a world series game that night.

  16. SonOF says:

My buddy went to this show, and he said Mastodon is doing theiir best to try to steal Tool’s live setup (visuals and such) ;) Just messing around though, I like the ‘Don a lot, and was annoyed I missed the show. He said they were great (despite ripping off Tool’s presentation).

  17. ferocious_fetus says:

Mastodon played ALL of Crack the Skye?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck man. Now i’m actually dreading this show.

    Converge/High On Fire FTW.

  18. I'm racist and I love Oceano says:

l’II probably stay till after William Murderface’s base solo.

…And I asure you all, that I am not gay

  19. Iron Tusk says:

Can’t fuckin wait to see them next Friday man!

  20. Keith Brown says:

These photos make it that much harder to wait for them to be in San Francisco

  21. olol so randum xd says:

Holy crap those Converge pics own so much.

  22. The Ghost of D. Boon says:

    Dear Bill Kelliher,

Get a haircut and a shave, “ironic” hair was never funny.

    (love yr band)

    Me.

  23. @!#@#$ (Steve) says:

I saw them on the second night in boston. The first night sold out which surprised me. High on fire wasn’t my thing, maybe because you couldn;t hear them.. converge fucking ripped everyones asses off. I got hit in the head by his microphone when he tried to through it to a crowd surfer. Mastodon blwe me away. It was my first time seeing them, and it was one of the best sets ever. Only was bugged by them not playing crystal skull, colony of birchmen, or blood and thunder. good to see some old stuff though. Dethklok was way better than I would have thought.

  24. Awesome pics. Seriously bummed I was to poor this month to check this show out… New Metalocalypse episodes this sundays! sweeeeet!!!!!!!!

  25. Christian says:

I was right in the center of the front row :D

Converge was the best band of the night, in my opinion.
