WESTERN WEEKEND NACHOS

Weekend+Nachos

I’ve never seen Weekend Nachos live, but I would very much like to someday. Relapse Records – who have had a fucking AMAZING 2009* -put out their album Unforgivable earlier this year, and it kills. If the band can do anything to re-create that energy in a live setting, I bet bucket loads of blood, sweat, and healthy releases of raw aggression will ensue.

The band is setting out on a tour at the end of the month, and, just my luck, it’s not coming close to New York – most of the dates are out west. But I implore you to go see Weekend Nachos if you can, so that I can live vicariously through you, my beloved readers.

Dates after the jump.

November 27 Chicago, IL – Albion House
November 28 Cedar Falls, IA – 1108 House
November 29 Lincoln, NE – Ghost House

*With all due respect to all the other labels that did excellent work this year, I think you could reasonably make a year-end top ten list just from Relapse’s ‘09 output. Off the top of my head, they put out new records by Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Baroness, Black Anvil, Brutal Truth, Burnt by the Sun, Coalesce, Revocation, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, the aforementioned Weekend Nachos, and probably a bunch more shit I’m forgetting. And they were all awesome. Good job, guys and girls.

I like weekend nachos but they just sound too much like Sheer Terror for me to LOVE them. Don’t get me wrong Sheer Terror is awesome but it feels like I have heard it before… I heard they fucking rip live though.

  11. John says:

Heard this band was fucking awesome live. I’m really dissappointed they aren’t coming to ohio. hopefully this tour goes really well and they’ll come here soon.

  15. Notmetal says:

I can say firsthand, as I’ve seen them 3 times now in Chicago and at Dudefest, that they are awesome and really kill shit in a live setting. I’ve never participated in a more violent pit in my entire life. I swear it rivals a Slayer pit.

  16. Noel says:

hmmm. swear ive seen flyers of shows for this band here in milwaukee. i thoughrt they were a local band…hmmm confused….

  17. 6infinite6hatred6 says:

    Oh shit… Chicago… HELL YES

  18. Marty Jannetty says:

I saw these guys back when I was attending NIU at this place called The Rodeo. They opened up for FBTMOF believe it or not. Weekend Nachos killed it.

  19. Dysenteric says:

The only Relapse release of 2009 that’s on my shopping list is Mumakil’s Behold The Failure. I’m undecided on Brutal Truth’s one, and I liked Weekend Nachos’ output on that crappy Kill Fascists comp. I’ve heard that Nirvana 2002 were good, so I’ll investigate them an’ all.
