Believe it or not, Doro is one of my guiltiest metal pleasures. Ever since I first saw the video for Warlock’s “All We Are”, I’ve been quite the fan. And though America hasn’t been particularly receptive to Doro’s charms since the 1980s, you gotta admit that MILF-y frontwoman Doro Pesch is the hardest working woman in the European metal scene, the foxier female equivalent of U.D.O’s Udo Dirkschneider. So it didn’t exactly surprise me that this morning, while seeking out lineup information for next year’s Wacken Open Air festival, I chanced upon this tasty newsworthy morsel:

Yes, you read right. Doro has played nearly 2,500 concerts! Gosh, I might have to start looking for cheap airfare! Anyway, for those of you who can’t wait until March, Doro has a number of European tour dates coming up next month, which I conveniently list for you below.

The lineup for Wacken 2010 so far consists of Immortal and Corvus Corax (who?). It’s really strange that they don’t have more bands lined up already; by this time last year, about half of the bands who ended up playing were already confirmed (a figure which included roughly 90% of the “headliners”/main bands). I wonder if they’re having trouble confirming bands or if they’re not as rushed this year (last year was the 20th anniversary and tickets were completely sold out by December).
I’m trying to make it out there again but I was pretty disappointed with the overall lineup last year, especially when you look at the lineups for 2007 and 2008. I’m not entirely ready to drop $200 (US) for a ticket until I see some big headliners.

Never got into Doro, but she looks like a(n ever most busted) version of Pamela Anderson.
Also, Corvus Corax is rad.
