NEW SIGH SONG FTW

I don’t want traditional black metal when I listen to Sigh. I want to feel like I’ve lost my fucking mind, like I’m on a bad acid trip that will never end, like I can’t tell if I’m dreaming or awake.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you “L’art de Mourir,” the new Sigh song which is streaming here. It comes off of the band’s new album, Scenes from Hell, and it is even better than I’d hoped. I have no fucking idea what drug gives this band their inspiration, but I want some, and I want some now. Smoke it, snort it, shoot it, shove it up my ass, I don’t care – I want I want I want. ‘Cause this song is just SO FUCKING COOL.

Scenes from Hell comes out January 19 on The End. I cannot fucking wait.

    Aside from the consistently terrible drum sounds and guitar solos, I really like Sigh. I just wish Mirai wasn’t the only awesome musician in the band.

    This is probably the only time I will ever say this but, good call Axl !! This band is great, can’t wait for the new album.

    g- the drum sound is fucking great. Get your head out of your ass….also, this might not be the final mix of the album either.

    This shit is cool, man. I always hate it when people complain about bands who add something non-metal to their metal. Countless people bitch about Sigh’s orchestral sections, same goes for Nile’s egyptian interludes. This, to me, is complete bullshit. If a band tries and can’t pull it off, then yes it sucks, but the difference with bands like Sigh and Nile is that their music is very well-composed, well-played, and simply kicks ass. You can’t listen to a song like this and say that they decided to just throw some trumpets and strings in there. It’s not slapdash at all, Mirai clearly had a very specific sound in mind and went through all the hard work to achieve exactly the sound he desired. There is a real purpose for the orchestral sections, it’s not like that shitty symphonic black metal where they threw some shit in there to make it sound “epic”.

      I don’t care if it’s metal or not really. I liked when Axl promoted the new Muse and that turned out
      great even if it was un-metal.

      It’s just that this is terrible terrible music. OMG my ears hurt.

      Black Metal never mixes with me period. All the horns do is mommentarily confuse and stall
      someone who is reaching for the stop key at almost exactly the average point when a normal
      human being goes “fuck this is godawful.” At that point they are like, “Wait WTH is this??? Oh OK
      fuck it.”

      Seems like Axl is good at pointing out stuff I eventually love but man, for every Gojira he has
      like twenty IWABO’s.

        I hope his mom is better than that trifling excuse for music i just attempted to listen to.
        Japanese Black Metal is impossible for me to wrap my head around. They eat fucking jellyfish for fuck’s sake and while that may be brutal in a sense, they massively FAIL at music imho. I have been to Japan and what kind of culture can make good Metal when they don’t fucking even have any cheese on anything except Wendy’s burgers!

    It’s a grower for sure, but I really love it. I just hope there isn’t too much loud orchestrations so there is a sense of balance and we can hear the riffs properly. Otherwise it’s awesome. Oh, and it’s probably just a demo version as they did with HH.

      I never said I didn’t like Japanese metal, although I havn’t really heard a lot anyways. Really I just hate
      music that immediately sounds awful the second I start listening and does not let up sounding awful
      ever. It’s as simple as that.
