AN AWESOME TOUR (THAT WE CAN’T GO TO)

behemothtourEver heard that Behemoth have breaks built into their set so they can run off stage and do some corpse paint touch-ups? To be fair, I’m not sure if the person who told me that was being honest or just joshin’ me, but it makes sense – the band definitely runs off stage from time to time, leaving the crowd to listen to pre-taped orchestral apocalyptic goodness.

True or not, it doesn’t change the fact that Behemoth absolutely crushed in their too-brief set on this past summer’s Rockstar Mayhem Yadda Yadda tour, or the fact that we were looking forward to seeing them do a proper headlining set. So now they’ve finally announced a tour – with Septic fucking Flesh, no less – and it’s hitting NYC the same night as the BTBAM/Cynic/Devin Townsend/Scale the Summit Orgasm Tour. I don’t know what rocket scientists set that up, but now metal fans in our area will have a tough decision to make. We are going to the Orgasm Tour, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish there were multiple mes, like in that awful Michael Keaton movie.

ANYWAY, here are dates for the Behemoth tour. We envy those of you who can make it.

      BTW, Axl and Vince….it’s not THAT much asking to drive a mere two hours on a Wednesday afternoon in January to see both this and the BTBAM tour, is it? Philly is right down the turnpike, you should come to the TLA show; get the mansion monkeys to run the site for a day (or just set up auto-posts like you have in the past).

    To shed light on the corpse paint touch-ups, I was privileged enough to watch behemoth from the stage at the Dallas, TX stop of the Mayhem fest, and yes, Nergal does run behind their set frequently for water, a nice large fan to stand infront of, and occassionally to touch up the ole corpse paint. Also, he’s super cool to his fans, i got many a fist bumps.

    No Behemoth-y goodness for Denver on this run. My only consolation is that I won’t have to make the same agonizing attendance decision as my Tri-state metal bretheren.

    well that blows, i have the same problem. the night Behemoth is in TUS is the same night that BTBAM/STP Tourgasm is in Mesa. and i was actually planning on making the trip up there for that since i’ve never seen Cynic.

    I might have to go see this for Shining and Septic Flesh. I’m sure Behemoth are fun live but I’ve never been able to get into their records past their old BM stuff.

    I am only familliar with SF’s “Communion” and it is a badass cd, can’t wait to see how they sound live. Behemoth was the best of the night when they came through supporting Morbid Angel, and Krisiun was great as well.
