Take this lampoon video from Current.com that highlights deathcore YouTube vocal covers (including our favorite, Señor Bivins) and mocks the differences between deathcore, death metal and metalcore. I’m pretty sure the guy in the video “gets” it and is playing dumb to make a point… but let’s be honest with ourselves; while the minutae between these micro-genres may seem important to us now, 200 years from now people aren’t going to give a flying fuck. By then it’ll all just be called “early 21st century metal” or some equally all-inclusive blanket term that disregards all the differences we argue about on a daily basis. It’s all just dudes screaming over loud guitars and fast drums in the end.
Anyway, this video is pretty funny. If there’s one thing we and the presumably indie rock-centric audience this video is geared towards can agree on, it’s that deathcore scene kids are fucking stupid.

By the way, that infomania show is probably one of the funniest shows on television that people don’t watch. There’s also a segment on that show called “Sergio’s white hot top 5″ that’s funny, too.
Instead of doing all these stupid fucking covers, why don’t they get into a band and put out some songs of their own?
Because none of them has any genuine talent, maybe?
(That Bivins idiot is the sole exception, cause he’s actually pretty decent, but after seeing his rant about how no good metal comes out of the U.K., he’s lost all credibility)
What good bands are coming out of the UK right now? I know the obvious ones but I honestly can’t think of any in the last five years.

I wasn’t even necessarily talking about today (though there are some, see post below); the moron said something along the lines of, “Nothing good has ever come out of the U.K.” Well, actually, the first metal band ever came from there, making the U.K. responsible for ALL metal. And let’s not forget Iron Maiden, etc. It bugs the shit out of me when kids today think they’ll all br00tal and kvlt but don’t know shit about metal’s history or roots (kind of like Born of Osiris not knowing who Glenn Danzig is, or, to a lesser extent, who Dino is….like, are you fucking kidding me here?).
Is Glenn Danzig part of metal history? I dunno, MIsfits? Not very metal to me…

Something to kill time and entertain others, which he appears to certainly be doing by all the attention he’s grabbing. Also, he is recording his own songs for his solo project. Actually pretty good.
