marduk tour admatThe MetalSucks-sponsored U.S. Plague Tour 2009 — featuring Marduk, Nachtmystium, Mantic Ritual, Merrimack, and on select dates Black Anvil — is currently under way. The tour kicked off Friday in Worcester, MA, runs through the South, up the West Coast, and then cuts back through the Midwest, ending December 16th in New York. In a cluttered Fall tour marketplace, this is one that definitely stands out from the pack. Must-attend!

And if you didn’t hear, Nachtmystium’s Black Meddle Part II is currently in the works. By now pre-production should be complete and recording will supposedly begin in January for a Spring release. Stoked!

  9. Vakarm says:

Just saw them in Montreal. Marduk was way brutal. , Nachtmystium almost stole the show. Mantic Ritual and Black Anvil were fun. Merrimack was ok, the singer was a real dick. There’s nothing funnier than a black metaller from France: their french accent just doesn’t fit!!!!

    • Alex_P says:

Really? I missed Merrimack, but I didn’t like any part of Nachtmystium’s set. I felt like they had stage presence but nothing else. Marduk and Mantic Ritual were my highlights though. Chilling with Mantic Ritual after their set was really cool.

  10. Jared says:

Nachtmystium blew doors in Worcester. They were so good that Marduk just looked and sounded so silly playing after them that I had to leave or risk spending the rest of the night laughing my ass off.

  11. phale says:

venue in toronto was shit. huge central bar, no fucking space to move.

nachtmystium was awesome, i figured out their gimmick is just adding a post-rock guitarist to a big black metal sound. anyway, it works, but they would be 100x better if they actually toured with a saxophone. grow some balls, you nerds.

everyone but me (so it seems) was there for marduk, so shit didnt really get going until the swedes came on. contrary to what alex_p said, *they* had stage presence but not much else.

mantic ritual slays as ive seen them slay before. but they had a lineup change, eh? they seemed a little more confident last time. but it might have been the show itself. like i said, this venue was terrible, and the sound guy was stoned or retarded.

missed the first two bands, so sad.

saw this tour in allentown and baltimore. Allentown is a terrible place that should not exist. Last night in baltimore was great though! and I got to see some dude get maced in the face about a yard away from me. images of this up soon!

  13. DGP says:

I got to see the stop in Tulsa, OK. Merrimack was good, Mantic Ritual was eh, but Nachtmystium effin’ killed. They played a lot of Assasins (was hoping for the Seasick triology) as well as some old stuff. The ticket was only $15, beer was cheap, the venue was small and intimate and even went up to Blake, Jeff and Jon and told them how great I thought the show was. They were all super cool. All in all, a great show and didn’t cost me out the ass like some other tours.

They are clearly in a league of their own and belong on a much bigger tour.
