Even if Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary deny the existence of Sumeriancore, at least someone is carrying the torch. A user named “MaidenPriest420″ (a great handle!) at SputnikMusic.com has compiled a list called “Best of Sumeriancore.” The list includes some of the usual suspects such as The Faceless, Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya, and some commenters are even suggesting additions like Broadcast the Nightmare and Periphery!

    I love all these bands except I haven’t heard The Boy Will Drown yet. Conducting From The Grave is definitely under appreciated and definitely should get more attention from places like MS.

      CHECK OUT The Boy Will Drown bro. listen to Dead Girls, but make sure its the full length Fetish version and not the EP version. Huge difference. One sucks and the other is awesome. And CFTG are indeed awesome

      Fuck yeah! I’m glad there are other people who are with me on this one. CFTG completely melt my brain everytime I listen to them. They are way cool dudes and one of their guitarists will go out of his way to give guitar lessons while on tour if you contact them ahead of time. If you have ever listened to the entirety of their album When Legends Become Dust then you know that is something truly awesome!

    Am I SERIOUSLY the first to bring up Enfold Darkness?? Definitely one of my favorite of the year, and the band is super badass! Vince and Axl, you gotta check those cats out!

    Stray From The Path is the only good band on Sumerian. They are fucking incredible everytime i listen to them i cant help but punch a baby fourteen times. The rest of the roster on Sumerian is overrated bullshit. Stray From The Path= Cumtastic Jizzsplosion.

    Early BTBAM totally counts as sumeriancore, imo. The elements are totally there.

    The Faceless, Enfold Darkness, Born of Osiris, Periphery, Arsonists Get All The Girls, and maybe The Number Twelve Looks Like You. Depends on the song, really.

      Sumeriancore, it’s slang for the subgenre of death metal pioneered by the faceless and, expanded by most bands on Sumerian Records and a few bands on other labels. Ya’see we call it sumeriancore because its a general sound that a majority of the bands on the record label share. I hope I clarified it for ya.
