THE RED CHORD’S FED THROUGH THE TEETH MACHINE IS A GROWER

fedthroughtheteethmachinebiggestI’ve really been digging The Red Chord’s Fed Through the Teeth Machine lately. REALLY digging it. It was impressive on first listen, sure, but it’s also a grower. I was over in the Axl Annex of the Mansion earlier this week with the vaporizer, and Axl pointed shit out to me that I’d never heard in the music before. Gotta love an album that you’ve listened to a dozen times in which you can still find new shit you’ve never noticed before. This is a record that I found impressive from the get-go, but the more I listen the higher up it goes on my already-crowded year-end list.

Cosmo Lee [Chris Rowella! Thanks guys.] at Invisible Oranges rightly identifies Fed Through the Teeth Machine as a big step up from The Red Chord’s previous effort Prey for Eyes. He also rightly identifies Fed Through the Teeth Machine as fucking awesome, only he uses bigger/more words and actually tells you why he thinks so. Go read his review of the record, and as a bonus stream two tracks from the record over at Invisible Oranges.

Seriously, guys: great fucking record. Don’t be a sucker and miss out.

  • Alex

    It’s fucking fantastic.

  • Ryd1ZZ

I also really like this one.

  • turboringtail

Easily my favorite band. They continue to push their sound further and further. I was skeptical when I heard they were making the album without a second guitarist. There’s just too much sound in the other 3 cds for 1 guitar to keep up in the style (if that makes any sense). Pulled it off though. Sounds better than I could have hoped for. Great CD.

  • orbital

i own this and it owns

  • Tonberry

Definitely one of my favorites this year.

  • Loves2spooge

do these retards not realize the piece on Invisible Oranges was written by Chris Rowella not Cosmo. Fuck the RED CHORD! burn in hell false metal

    • bradylikesbigbird

ladies and gentleman this is a classic example of whats known as a “retard.”

    • Fong Chung

“Death to false metal blah blah” God shut the fuck up and get with the times please. This isn’t 1990 anymore when you were around claiming you traded tapes. Dust off that bullet belt, and keep pretending Dismember did anything original.

LOVES2SPOOGE IS A HOMO NAME FOR STARTERS. YOU SUCK COCKS IN HELL

        • Loves2spooge

I’m wearing my Fed Through the Teeth Machine hoodie as I type this! Awesome record.

  • SHOCKTROOP

i was wondering about these guys so I checked out their myspace page. some of the worst shit I’ve ever heard in my entire life. I have a hard time even justifiably calling this “music”. more like noise.

    • Fong Chung

LOL this has to be a Megadeth fan talking shit above. Get out of your moms basement, and lose your virgnity please. Having sticky palms, and pretending to tbe judge of music is pathetic. Funny I once heard Pantera and thought that was a terrible excuse for music.

    • jackattack

Clearly you’ve never listened to over 80% of metal these days. Or your just a Nickelback fan.

    • SonOF

You sound like my grandmother…”What is this noise? This isn’t Judas Priest!”

  • Facebook User

i own 2 copies of this cd because i had to go buy it because my pre-order got messed up in the mail.

GUNFACE HOLDS IT DOWN even as a four piece, and expands SO MUCH on this album. with tracks like “mouthful of precious stones” and “Sleppless nights in the compound” it TRUELY shows that gunface is trying to intruduce NOT ONLY A NEW SIDE to his music, but A REVOLUTIONARY SOUND. i dont even think he understands the impact yet.

just the other day, i was trying to learn a solo off the new album, and i came up with the most beuaitufl little rip-off red chord lick ive ever made…. just sayin lmfao AMAZING and if anyonea thinking OTHERWISE, then they havnt listened/dont understand the music

    • jackattack

      This.

Gunface is one of the most brilliant guitarists in metal today. NOBODY plays or writes music like him, not even close.

  • http://www.kingdomofnoise.blogspot.com MetalMatt

only heard it once so far but I have to say I like it more than Prey For Eyes or Clients.

  • ab12

Cosmo didn’t write the Invisible Oranges review

Not a fan of these guys. I may have to try to listen with no distractions.

This is the only Red Chord album I own and for what it’s worth, I think it’s great.

  • RandomGuitarist

If you could only see how many plays I have on my iTunes for EVERY single song on that album..its ridiculous. Best release in many years in any genre. It just keeps getting better.

  • Santa Claus

How can you NOT want to buy this? I got their shirt with the dude that has his head blown in and the cd in a package deal for 12 fucking dollars. Its like a crime not to give them 12 dollars for that. Right?

  • jackattack

The thing that makes me continually love every TRC album, and FttTM is no different, is how they seriously do not take themselves seriously at all. There is an element of satire to all of the ir albums and songs that in and of itself is complex and adds a seriously unique aspect to their music. There most certainly are funny and satirical bands out there, but there is something about TRC that is at once totally legitimate, visceral and pissed off but at the same time ridiculous and totally immature. I can’t think of seriously any other band that can boast anything like that.

  • Arto

I do not think this album is as great as people think, its lacking chemistry and creativeness

I do not think your post is as great as you think, its lacking chemistry and creativeness.

Seriously, anyone who thinks The Red Chord isn’t creative needs to get their hearing checked, or go back to watching American Idol. I’m not sure if this new one is as good as Clients, but it’s close, and perhaps in time it will be my favorite of theirs.

    • SonOF

What’s makes you say it lacks chemistry? Just curious..

  • ferocious_fetus

Clients was their Calculating Infinitity/Jane Doe/ Reign In Blood/ etc…
this new one is great too, waaaaay better than Prey For Eyes.
Brads drumming on this new record is pure evil =p
