STOP YER WHININ’, HERE’S SOME SHIT ABOUT DARK TRANQUILLITY

Based on the e-mails we’ve gotten today, it would seem that a lot of you are frickin’ CRANKY that we’ve made no mention of the fact that Dark Tranquillity are working on a new album, Into the Void. So here’s part 1 of their in-the-studio video series. The album will be out sometime in February or March on Century. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it will sound like European melodic death metal. But I could be wrong. It could be a rap metal album. That would really throw people for a loop, eh?

      I felt that Fiction was quite a big album. And it was good.

            I also think Fiction’s the best, Terminus and Focus Shift are amazing songs, but I also like Character. But I haven’t actually gotten to their older stuff, I’ll have to do that.

            Really? Has no one heard The Gallery/Minds I/Damage Done? I like their new stuff but it’s not as good as their older stuff, but it is good in a different way.

            The Gallery is definitely their best album. I’ve always had a special place for Haven though, too.

      damnit me too (except more along the lines of months), because i know how to spell Dark Tranquillity and so I always fuck it up when i need to spell tranquility or something.

        They use the British spelling, kind of like how the British spell armor with a U.

        Correct! It can actually be spelled both ways, but when the word was actually created it was spelled with two L’s, which is how I’ve always written it. It just seems more complete with two L’s.

    I love this band, I shouldn’t compare them but they seem to have risen to fill the void In Flames left for me when they became… not very good. And live DT give so much more passion than Anders and co – yet they still seem to be a well kept secret.

    Interesting side-note though, Anders Bjorler of At the Gates and The Haunted fame did the camera work for this. Pretty cool.

    I love Dark Tranquillity, but don’t have that many of their albums yet. I have fiction, and apparently I need to pick up The Gallery as well.
