THE BINARY CODE LIVE; LIKE SEX, BUT LESS MESSY

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 3:30pm by Vince Neilstein

Yesterday we posted live footage of Periphery tearing up the New York City crowd at their headline show at Santo’s Party House last month… and today we’ve got footage of The Binary Code from that very same show thanks to our brostophers at Metal Injection. The live setting is really where these guys shine. Despite the iffy sound quality in this video of the band playing the title track from Suspension of Disbelief segueing into “The Story,” the video does a good job of conveying the intensity that is The Binary Code live…. and believe us, it’s really fucking intense.

Suspension of Disbelief drops December 15th, which is next Tuesday! Buy the full album for only $5, or buy the album and one of four t-shirt designs for only $15 (with free U.S. shipping); pre-order it here. Check out their MySpace for some tuneage.

I never knew that the definition of “intense” was “playing sloppy and having no presence”.

  2. Zach Dolan says:

THE BINARY CODE LIVE; LIKE BUTT SEX, BUT WORSE.
Not that i’ve ever had butt sex. ;-)

  3. builtforsin says:

You guys push that Binary Code shit soooo hard. Seems to be an article nearly everyday; and every time all the comments say how bad they suck.

It’s because it is true. They do suck.

MAN!! LOOK HOW HARD THEY JUST STAND THERE!! Their lack of motion is so BRUTAL!!!

    • builtfordick says:

So pretty much you are saying that in order to have a live presence, you must be br00tal, and swing your sword (guitar) like excalibur. You sir are a dumbass.

  4. Ronnie says:

    Not my favorite…

  5. !?! says:

This is like sex? Five sweaty, hairy men making an awful racket for a crowd of likewise sweaty and hairy men? Good thing I’ve never had sex before. It sounds terrible.

  6. SolaceInNothing says:

I think th Binary Code are fine and all but there is a reason why they get so much press as opposed the other bands as good (or better) then these guys. The guitarist of the Binary Code is freinds with one of the MetalSucks press guys.

Unfortuntely even in the world of metal, its who you know.

  7. Biff Tannen says:

This is some of the worst shit I have ever heard on this horrid site, and that is saying A LOT. Why do you like this kind of stuff? What exactly about it moves/interests you ? Maybe I’m missing something about this whole genre of hipster metal ? Please, list the traits that make it appealing to you…
I mean, just LOOK at the guys….this is not metal, whatsoever.

    • stu1 says:

Ahhh so you have to have a certain look to be metal? Got it.

      • Biff Tannen says:

I hate to say it, but a lot of times, you CAN judge a metal band (or at the very least, get a good idea of what style they play) by the way the guys in the band look. Its sad, but true.

    • SolaceInNothing says:

I know I just posted a not so positive comment for this band, but this is just such an exageration.

Please tell me, what other bands to you qualify to be considered “hipster metal” I will totally answer your questions fully if you by chance name bands that I really like.

Also, If you think this website is so horrid, why the fuck do you even visit it in the first place?

      • stu says:

I didn’t even touch his “hipster metal” comment, as these guys couldn’t be further from what I generally hear referred to as such.

  8. I agree that they are lacking in stage presence but I think the music is awesome.

  9. max says:

fucking intense = crowd standing still and barely paying attention?

i do like how the bassist is on drugs though

  10. Bicro says:

Sorry, sex is still much, much better than this.

  11. needly needly doo says:

so brutally boring the origin of borecore

  12. wtfhax says:

I honestly hope a ton of people fork over the 5 bux and get this.

  13. DustintheWind says:

I’d rather be having sex…. reversecowgirlcore

  14. “look at me, im wearing an animosity hoody and that means my influence is progressive, AND SO ARE WE”

i dont know… i like some of the more tame parts in the music, i definately connected on a few parts, but the first 3 minutes was hard to swallow.

though it went on to remind me of some eery bands i listen to, the only thing cool about this band is the fact that when you’re looking at the band name, you expect alot more.

  15. Love their style, will be listening to more of their tunes! /,,/ It’s fresh, brutal and tasteful.

  16. SP420 says:

Please stop peddling this untalented band.

  17. Truant says:

Good band, boring an bad video.

  18. ECDEU says:

I like this band but I don’t see how this video justifies this quote from you guys,

“the video does a good job of conveying the intensity that is The Binary Code live…. and believe us, it’s really fucking intense.”

The music is good but this video just shows them standing around and then the bassists headbanging when it gets a little bit heavy. Show a better video and I might agree with you.

  19. Tonberry says:

Furthermore, their name bothers me a bit. “The Binary Code” is like saying “The HTML” or “The Soccer”. This train of thought however, led me to think about “The Strokes” as if for example, Dick Clark’s wife said that he “has the strokes”.

  20. Trux says:

just another case of ” one crappy band hailed as the big next thing ”

    bah…
