brutal truthMetalSucks photo guru Diana Lee Zadlo captured the madness that was the MetalSucks-sponsored Waste the World tour when it hit Philadelphia, PA’s First Unitarian Church (churches are metal) on December 10th. The pit was so brutal for Municipal Waste that Diana had a hard time getting shots of all the band members, but what she did capture is, as usual, awesome.     As always, great pics.

    The First Unitarian Church, however, is the worst venue I’ve ever been to. It’s crammed, way too hot, sticky, has questionable sound, and it smells awful. Blech.

      Anytime you put 400 raging metal maniacs in a room together its going to be fucking hot, and probably smell bad. But the sound at the church is usually the best in the city. Much better then the shitty Kyber, horrible TLA, or any other of the shit venues we have in Philly.

    While church in general can be pretty metal, Unitarian Universalism (and I say this having grown up as one) is basically the least metal judeo-christian offshoot. Way too inclusive and loving. However, they’re usually super down to host killer DIY shows, so THAT’s pretty metal.

    Toatally missed this tour when it came to richmond, but fuck it. I can just see em when they come back every month. I love living lees than an hour away from their hometown. :)
