D.R.I. DO DEATHFEST

DRI

I barely remember the lost weekend I once spent in Baltimore. Was I bored, or just doing what I do? I dunno. I dunno.

Looks like I might be going back, though: D.R.I. have been added to the already stellar line-up of the 2010 edition of Maryland Deathfest. This is just the latest in a long line of good reasons to attend, not least of which is that it is, at least as far as I’m aware, currently the only scheduled U.S. appearance of Australia’s Portal, whose new album Swarth is currently frightening metalheads across the world. Throw in Converge, Magrudergrind, Entombed, Obituary, Watain, Melechesh, Jucifer, Gridlink, Gorod, 16, and a plethora of other awesome bands, and I think I could have a weekend in Baltimore even more lost than my last.

Get Maryland Deathfest’s complete line-up-to-date after the jump.

    SYSTEM! SYSTEM! SYSTEM! SYSTEM!

  • jason

What a line up. May be worth the 600mi trip and wading through a bunch of same-y techdeath bands to catch some real gems.
    PS- Capitalist Casualties!!! Holy shit!

    • Jargy

I’m really good friends with the dudes from Capitalist Casualties, my band went on a small northwest tour with them this last November, they are all cool ass motherfuckers.

Spider Mike (guitarist) has a hello kitty tattoo on his dick.

      • John

I think capitalist casualties actually pushed me over the edge on going to this

  • ryan

holy fucking lineup! i would have no idea how to plan out my sunday..

  • justin

i’ve been to deathfest every year and it keeps getting better and better. there’s no city other than baltimore that i can think of where you can spend four days straight completely liquored up and coked up on the street and not wind up in jail or murdered… and every year, it seems like i party more and more and see less and less bands. last year i think i only saw cephalic carnage, immolation, devourment, and bolt thrower. everything else is a blur or blank.
this year definitely has the highest percentage of bands that i want to see of any of the previous fests. the sunday lineup alone makes the whole thing worth it. can’t wait!!

  • shreddy_lee

holy balls! i think im going to grab a flight from Kansas City this year. looks bitchin!!!!

  • John

Captain Cleanoff playing in the US!? WTF Are these tickets up for preorder yet?

This lineup is fucking killer. And to top it off there’s BLOOD DUSTER!!!!!! I am there.

    • John

Good call dude, I almost missed that!

FUCK YEAH D.R.I.!! I saw them once years ago when they played Hellfest and there was hardly anyone watching them. Such a shame!!

  • Allan

I’d love to go to this but the bands I really want to see are spread over all three days, and I think the whole trip would be prohibitively expensive. Also, noone I know listens to this stuff but me so convincing my non-metalhead friends to accompany me would be like untying the Gordian Knot.

    • jason

+1/-1 for the non-metal friends comment.

  • SP420

Portal makes this fest worth going to.

    • SourDeez

      GLLLLLUMURPHHHONEL…

  • ITTOA666

    Wheres Pig Destroyer?

  • FrostMechanic

No mention of Gorguts? Isn’t this their first show in years?

    • justin

given gorguts’ lineup, it should be amazing… if they played “obscura” alone.

Also, does anyone know if the Fang listed above is the 80′s punk Fang? God I hope so…

    • stu1

I would assume so. Same goes with Verbal Abuse.
