Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 at 10:00am by

the binary codeThe day has finally come… The Binary Code’s debut full-length Suspension of Disbelief is out today.

Love it, hate it; pan it, praise it; steal it, buy it… just do yourself a favor and give it a chance by listening. As partners in this release, we’re pleased to bring you the full stream of the album in high-quality 320kbps MP3 files; it’ll be available for 24 hours only so make sure you listen now.

In response to some of the haters on previous posts about the band, we just have this to say: MetalSucks stands to make little to no money on this release. No, The Binary Code are not paying us for this promotion… and while we feel privileged to now call the dudes in the band friends of ours, we came to know them through being thoroughly impressed with their music, not vice versa. The goal here is to help this band gain wider exposure, and that is really all.

So, have a listen and let us know what you think. The whole album is available for digital purchase for the very fair price of only $5, or with one of four t-shirt designs for only $15 (with free U.S. shipping). All files are 320kbps MP3s. Visit The Binary Code’s webstore to order.

The Binary Code will be on tour with Revocation and Hypno5e from January 6th through February 6th, traversing most of the U.S. Get dates here.

I downloaded it last night and I’ve listened to about half of it this morning. I really like it so far. I think anyone who digs Sumerian-core type stuff will certainly get into it.

  • needly needly doo

    the binary chode pure borecore

  • msv81

The way you guys have been pushing this album, I want to like it but I just don’t know. I guess I’m just not a fan of sumeriancore or whatever genre this stuff is.

Meh. Sounds like “Red Chord Light”

  • http://atanamar.blogspot.com/ atanamar

I’m enjoying this quite a bit. I’ll definitely pick this up and check them out on tour with Revocation.

  • derp

    nothing memorable…just confusing noise…

    I kinda hate his vocals.

I’m a fan of a lot of the bands dubbed “sumeriancore” and I don’t think these guys live up to that title.

Plus, some of the playing is just plain out of time, which knocks it right off the “sumeriancore” pedestal in my opinion.

  • Sean

It’s not bad but hasn’t really grabbed me yet. I’ll give it a few more listens to see if it grows on me.

    borefest

Don’t get why you guys are pushing this band so much… I wonder if its the fact your selling there album

  • Facebook User

what’d these dudes do? suck all your cocks to get some webspace?

  • WowWee!

I would go see them because they’re with Revocation but they go to Sparks,NV instead of Vegas.

  • Dilznoofus

I’ve been playing this album all day… I love it. You really do need to be into the “Sumerian Core” sort of music to enjoy this. Otherwise, you’ll hate it a bunch.

  • The M_F Beard

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Metal Sucks is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  • dan

that pic makes me wanna dropkick the dude on the far right

  • Crusty Hippo

I’m actually quite conflicted with this band. It sounds good, but I detect more repetitiveness in the guitars than usual. And the vocalist reminds me of JFAC’s Ruination album with the AFI singer. Which isn’t bad, I just don’t think it contrasts the best with the sound altogether.

  • Watty

I don’t think there’s that many folks that hate them; most of the confusion comes from not knowing why these guys are getting so much face time here. There’s plenty of other bands that have better music that could use this much exposure, especially given how many people visit this site on a regular basis.

As far as their stuff goes, the vocals are forgettable, though not overly horrible like most stuff in this particular realm of metal. The music isn’t that bad, but like others have mentioned, there’s a bit too much repetition for it to be that good. It seems like they tried to take a bit of everything and combine it, and it ended up being subpar. The riffs that are good die too fast, or aren’t developed into their full potential which implies that they’re obviously still finding their musical stride…

If MS wants a list of lesser known bands that could use a bit of a push as far as free advertising goes, I’m sure everyone could provide some picks that would be better than these guys…my vote (at least right now) would have to go to “The Safety Fire.”

    • Watty

      Edit:

Of course premature….opinion-ulation is never a good thing…

Anyway, Void was decent, I have a feeling, based on the clean bits from the other songs, that these guys should definitely stick to writing more clean stuff, as it’s definitely stronger compositionally than the heavy stuff. Maybe after the inevitable interview, we’ll find out if one of the guitarists has a stronger music theory inclination than other…and happens to like AaL.

I agree with you its that its bad its just that its bland, Ive heard all this before with so so so many other bands. Other albums that came out this year got maybe 1 or 2 posts when they got realeases. This has gotten at least 1 or 2 a week since i cant even remember when alll i know is it was a while ago.

The new Insomnium album for example is awesome and it got like 2 fuckin posts for it, or the new Hypocrisy album that got like 2 maybe 3 posts about it.

Between making fun of Attack Attack! and pushing Shitmeriancore to the fucking moon there really isnt much more to this site. Its rediculous

Bought it. Like it, it’s not going to end up as one of all time favourites.. but for 5 fucking dollars how can you complain???

  • |Tch0rT|

Nice, I like what I’ve heard so far. I think I shall buy this.

  • chinnymac

I liked it. I’m going to pick up a copy.

Hey guys, Jess from Binary Code here. Just wanted to say thanks to MetalSucks & to all of you whom gave us a shot. Even if you hated it, thanks for taking the time.

    • Brownsound

Thank YOU Jess! I just bought the album and shirt.

    • |Tch0rT|

I bought the album and shirt shirt combo. Record companies should take notice of this! Buy the album and a shirt for $15? Fuck yeah, I’d start buying more music again if more bands did this!

  • raz

i wanna dropkick the whole band
