I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT “PRESSURE” WOULD MAKE AN AWESOME METAL SONG

Before we had pubes or had discovered metal, we thought that Billy Joel was the shit. As I got older, I seriously thought that someone could turn Joel’s song “pressure” into a pretty awesome metal cover. I always dreamed it would be Stratovarius or someone kind of Stratovarius-esque, but I’ll settle for For Whom the Bell Joels, the latest discovery from those geniuses at Metal Insider.

Of course, a metal band exclusively playing Billy Joel covers is a gimmick, and not even an especially clever one – but the band isn’t terrible, and I’m being sincere when I say I think they nailed “Pressure.” I can think of a handful of other BJ songs I’d be curious to hear these dudes try out.

If you have ever enjoyed boring middle-of-the-road soft rock made my an alcoholic from Long Island, check out For Whom the Bell Joels here.

Fuck the haters, Billy Joel is the man. And this idea has a lot of potential. Hoping for a pornogrind version of “She’s Always a Woman to Me”.

I heard somewhere that Billy Joel is a fan of Hard Rock/Metal music and had a hard rock band before he went solo. He used a heavily distorted keyboard. I’m not joking btw.

“boring middle-of-the-road soft rock?” Fine, but throw in Long Island in there and you, sir, have gone too far.

I’ve seen this band live, and they are peerless musicians who have taken an amusing idea and bring it with pants-shitting intensity that will leave you speechless.

You’d be blown away by what songs they combine, and make something truly more than the sum of it’s parts. Plus, the drummer is a really pretty girl with bigger balls than lars. Win Win across the board.

“As I already said Sir, we only play old Joel!”

watched the videos on their site and when they started playing “jump in the Fire” at the end of “fantasy” I was blown away.
you are wrong when you say that they are just “a metal band exclusively playing Billy Joel covers”
because they are obviously doing more than that!
    and doing it really well!
and Billy Joel’s heavy band was called Atilla.
