ABORTED NEED “CORONARY RECONSTRUCTION”

Death metal butchers Aborted have launched the title-track of their forthcoming EP, Coronary Reconstruction, at the band’s redesigned MySpace page.

Aborted have recently announced a new line-up, featuring Sven de Caluwe (also of System Divide) on vocals, Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork) on drums, Eran Segal (ex-They Swarm/Whorecore) and Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams) on guitar and Cole Martinez (System Divide) on bass…

Wait wait wait wait wait wait. The dude from Abigail Williams is in Aborted now? How the fuck did I miss that?

Not that it really seems to matter. I don’t like “Coronary Reconstruction” (the song – haven’t heard the full EP yet) as much as anything on the band’s last album, Strychnine.213, but I certainly don’t hate it. In other words: this song doesn’t suggest that the new line-up has ruined Aborted. I would definitely listen to the other four songs on the EP (including a cover of Entombed’s “Left Hand Path”) before passing final judgement.

Coronary Reconstruction doesn’t have an official-official release date, but will apparently be out “by the end of the year” (I assume that’s this year) as a digital-only release through Century, with a very limited pressing of physical copies allegedly available through Indie Merch, although I’m a little retarded today and can’t seem to find it anywhere.

    I’m stoked for this. I really like Aborted so I hope it’s good. The song they posted isn’t great but it doesn’t suck either.

    Am I the only one who likes Abigail Williams? I think they’re pretty decent and I want to put it in Ashley Ellyon’s butt…

    This sounds way better than their piece of shit last album. Not a full return to Goremageddon; but it’s a step in the right direction.

    Aborted’s merch store really embraced the scene style with the neon lettering and stuff. Not that theres anything wrong with that…

    My guitar teacher Mike Wilson (Abigail Williams) wrote some solos and stuff for the album too. He’s also in System Divide.

    This song slays! Love Aborted, extremley overlooked DM band. This is going back to the sheer brutality that was Goremageddon. Love it. And i loved strychnine also. Difference is there was much more emphasis on melody on their last 2 albums, this one is going to be brutal and in your face! I got a the limt press pre order for the EP, cant wait.
