Just a couple of weeks ago I was wondering if Triptykon, Thomas Gabriel Fischer’s post-Celtic Frost project, were ever gonna announce a release date for their debut album. I should have been more media savvy, though; the band didn’t release two new tracks just ’cause Tommy Boy wanted to share his art with you. There was an announcement in the works.

And that announcement has arrived, by way of e-mail press release! Hoo-ray! Here’s what that e-mail press release says:

Triptykon, the group formed by former Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer, guitarist, and main songwriter Tom Gabriel Warrior, is proud to announce that the groups’ own label, Prowling Death Records Ltd., has entered into a licensing agreement with renowned metal giant Century Media Records.

Under the agreement, Century Media Records will release Triptykon’s massive debut album, Eparistera Daimones, in Europe and North America on March 22, 2010.

And then there’s a bunch of other stuff that’s not that interesting.

But March 22! Awesome. That’s closer than you think. And those new songs were killer. I’m stoked for this one. 2010 is gonna make a run for 2009′s title of “holy shit year of the early 21st century,” I can feel it.

I hope that it’s gonna sound a bit like Monotheist, that was a fucking great album.

“I’m a dying hairline, coming into balding skull.”

Seriously though, this shit will rock if it’s even remotely similar to Monothiest.

I really want to hate you, but that line is too funny. Props to you, good sir.

      • TheHangingBrain

Thanks, mate. I’m getting pretty thin up top myself, so no hate on Tom. I actually said fuck it and started shaving my head years ago because, you know, the chicks dig fat, ugly AND bald. =)

    • Biff Tannen

Actually, Tom Warrior’s hair is not balding. Don’t know why he likes to wear the beanie. But in pics of him in recent years without it, he’s still got a full head of hair.

  • Chet Stedman

    Oooh!

Can’t wait for this shit! Those tracks rip!

  • Nick from hell

Hell yes! If the new tracks are any indication, this album is going to be a contender for best of 2010.

Tracks on the myspace page are totally fuckin’ rad. Even Monothi-er, with some real thrash in there too.
