LAMB OF GOD MUST BE GETTING PAID HELLA LOOT FOR THIS!

Monday, December 21st, 2009 at 4:00pm by Vince Neilstein

I’m all for heavy metal artists licensing their songs out to commercials and movies. With diminished record sales and an over-flooded touring market, every little bit counts… and these types of commercial spots pay extremely well. “Way to go, Lamb of God,” I say. I guess they’ve finally reached that level of ubiquity.

So the guy wants to listen to metal while doing demos? what exactly does that mean? This commercial just made me want to play with my ipod not listen to online music. And whos gunna know what the song is or whos playing it if it sounds like your listening to the guy next to you on the bus? Oh well its great that someone at rhapsody liks LOG but seems kinda pointless

In the words of Bill Hicks: “Once you do a commercial, you’re off the artistic roll call….forever.”

  • Devon Czekaj says:

Way for the guy in the ad to use almost every metalhead stereotype in 30 seconds…

  • jason says:

I wonder how Randy feels about the dude from Linkin Park talking about his band?

  • I tripped when I saw this on tv last week. I like Lamb of God, they’re leagues above whiny shit like Bullet for my Valentine and Atreyu, so I’m glad they have a commercial and all that other trend-core dos’nt .

  • Tonberry says:

I’m glad that doors are opening for metal bands to make money off of their music.

I hate when people who don’t listen to metal and who clearly know nothing about metal listen to metal or talk about metal. It’s on par with that time your uncle Denny tried to rap.

When I saw this on television the other week, I flipped a shit. Granted, Lamb of God is a pretty damn popular, but I was still surprised that Rhapsody would ever use metal in one of their national ads. A+

  • Mutt Weiler says:

When I saw this the first thing I thought of is if the “Heavy Metal” guy is a heavy metal guy he’s already heard this song. Way to go douche you are years behind the curve.

saw this on TV the other night. couldn’t believe my ears. Look for hipster snobby metalkids to start hating lamb of god now the way they hate any other band with any measure of success.

    • I know, right? I just don’t listen to what all the trendy kids are saying about music, or all the purist haters who are just as stupid. I’ll listen to a band with no preconceived notions of what all the forum rats are saying, and if I like the band, then that’s that. For example, I like Pantera a just as much as I like any “trve brvtal kvlt” band like Nile or Borknagar or Taake or Behemoth. It wasn’t until I started checking out these metal sites that I learned that not some, but a LOT of people hate Pantera! I can’t believe all these fucking divisions and boundries that users on these sites put up.

        Totally agree…

        Listen to the fuckin metal.

Decide if YOU like or don’t like the fuckin metal.

So many people on this site are influenced into not liking or liking certain bands by the comments some dicks make. And people pretend to be unique or say they are “true” metalheads by posting that they like some of the fuckin worst unknown metal that nobody knows about.

Anyways, Lamb of God deserves any publicity they get. They constantly tour and work their asses off.

Yeah the guy in the ad is very douchey but i was stoked to hear LOG in a mainstream commercial… Hey if it turns on a few kids to metal thats awesome. On another note “Laid to Rest” seems to be the most popular non-mainstream metal song of this decade… And on yet another note, there is another commercial airing right now for some atv video game with As I Lay Dying playing in it…

    • The_Bloody_Omen says:

LOG is good but I feel like they hit the main stream due to guitar hero. ARRRRRRGGG Guitar Hero. I think they ruin good and original bands like Dragon Force. I had my 5 year old neighbor brag to parents and me that he beet the song on medium and i was just like… FUCKYOUUUUUUU. Now my brother has that one song ext and Through the fire and the flames is a cruddy song, better ones on album. Then they come up with Ultra sonic butt hole or w/e and i just didn’t want to listen. Having LOG being a great southern metal band I hate if the same thing happen, but did not listen to Sacrament so we shall see. And I thought the new All Shall Perish album kinda blew. Just btw
