WANNA HEAR THE NEW BLACK LABEL SOCIETY SINGLE?

Okay so that’s not really it, but who wants to bet that that’s more or less exactly what it sounds like? I mean, I bet I could have fooled at least half of all BLS fans into thinking that really was the new single, and at least seven-eighths of everyone else.

Anyways, BLS are gonna try and get a new album out by June. So I guess Zakk ignored my advice about taking some time to reflect on Ozzy firing him and then work at a deliberate pace in order to make a kick-ass new record that reminds us why we ever cared.

Swell.

    Move out of your parents houses and start having real conversations in public and after the several ass kickings you will receive then maybe you will remember that talking shit behind a keyboard is as lame as almost all of the metal thats come out in the last ten years. Burroughs, or better yet…..try Henry Rollins a guy who was not only the frontman for Black Flag, managed to have a hit single, lifts weights everyday, keeps a well-balanced healthy diet, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink, doesn’t do drugs, writes books, acts, does stand-up comedy/talking tours, book signings, owns his own publishing company that has released books by Henry Miller, Michael Gira, and several books about writings from a Vietnam veteran, etc.etc. etc. THAT is talent.

      But then again, constructive talent these days means looking and acting like a wannabe biker.

    wow, this is a pretty polarizing subject, but that doesn’t change the fact that zakk wyld USED to be good, but doesn’t try very hard anymore.

    Big Zakk Wylde fan here…and although I’ll PROBABLY end up getting this new album…but I would much rather just wait another year and have a really good one. Like most Zakk fans, I would much, MUCH rather him do a Pride & Glory southern-styled album, or at least another Book of Shadows type album, but that’s just not the way it is with him anymore. He’s going to put out the BLS-usual stuff….by this point I just hope it’s decent. All the BLS albums have some good songs, they just have less and less each time around, with only a few appearing on Shot to Hell. Following that pattern, this one should suck. BUT, after checking out several recent Zakk interviews on Blabbermouth, he seems to have his shit together at least a little better than before…hopefully it will be enough to get a good record out of him.

    But in the end, it’s his life and his music…if he still has people who want to hear it, fuck it man, let him play it. If it’s not something I dig anymore I can always pop in Sonic Brew when I need to. I don’t bitch about Chris Cornell’s “Scream” shit…I just pop in Superunknown and just let it be what it is. Same with Zakk.

    And for what it’s worth (not much), I’ve seen a pretty good number of shows of all different types of music…and with the exception of the Allman Brothers Band last year, I still say BLS at the House of Blues in Orlando on the “Mafia” tour kicked my ass more than any other show I’ve seen. Great musician and a great entertainer. Met him at a meet-n-greet once and he seemed like a really good dude on top of all that.

      +1 on BLS Mafia tour. Godfather intro was a bit cheesy, but then it shreded. Saw him at HOB Sunset…first show after Dimebag death…fucking epic. There were a ton of other musicians there checking out the show (lemmy, rob zombie were 2 i can remember seeing). great show
