Yall are fucking assholes. You may not like the music they play but that doesnt mean they suck. I, for one, think they are an amazing band. The driver of the car the girl was in was drunk. It wasnt Sully’s fault. And i go buy their albums and enjoy them. That doesnt make me a retard. It’s relatively apparent to see how some would have chosen to react to that situation if were them versus someone in the public eye given the majority of the comments above. Is this what it’s really come to? People having nothing better to do than gripe and complain …….. because she was given a settlement? I can’t imagine the trash that would have been said if she hadn’t been awarded that settlement.

Yes I have noticed that. In fact their first album had FIVE songs that adressed the “go away/keep away” theme, and it is also interesting to note that 8 out of the 11 songs (that contained lyrics) used the word “away.” I have seen Godsmack once about ten years ago, and ever since I have been doing Sully a favor…staying away from him. Godsmack blows.

@Timbodini: I totally get what you’re saying. I’m absolutely not saying and did not mean to say that I think the girl is “all better.” Far from. I am sure she will be affected by this accident for years to come, if not her entire life. What I read in that story is that something unfortunate happened to someone, and given who it was that did it to them, they ended up only seeing dollar signs in their eyes over it.

I don’t believe that just because something bad happens to someone that they should automatically get a free pass through life as a result. Because that’s exactly what happened. Provided this chick isn’t financially retarded, she’ll never have to hold down a job that she never had at the time she was injured in the first place. And if you can’t live on that kind of money per month, then you’ve got some kind of other bad habit to boot. Should Sully pay her medical fees? Yes. Should Sully pay her legal fees? Probably. Should Sully help her get through other expenses that she has on the road to recovery? It would be the kind thing to do. Should Sully have to pay outrageous monthly fees for the rest of this chicks life so that she can coast through life simply because of one unfortunate incident? Absolutely not.

Are there any lawyers/law students here, or maybe anybody that’s been involved in a similar settlement that can shed some light on how this worked out? I can’t imagine that if any of us non-celebrities here were in Sully’s shoes, we’d wind up in such a dilly of a pickle. Is our legal system really so corrupt that when you show up to the bargaining table, they just say “give us what ya got”? I mean, clearly it is, but on paper, what do they say to justify it?
