the red chord was not wearing band t-shirts per se, as they explained, they also think it is lame to wear your own bands shirts but those were the “Red Chord Bowling Team Shirts” which all had their name and high score on the back.

I was thinking the same thing (although I love The Red Chord). I have heard some bands say that while out on the road for a long time, sometimes their merch is the only clean stuff they have, so that is why they wear it (rather than the free publicity).
