For “Digimortal”, they had Puya and Dry Kill Logic open for them and they were awesome. I hadn’t even heard of either band before that show and I immediately went out and bought both their albums (Puya is WAY better on stage than on CD. Dry Kill’s 1st one is phenomenal but each disk after that slipped further away from greatness. Point being that they both killed live! Even joining FF on stage for a group singing of the corus from “Edgecrusher”)

For “Transgression” I was excited, hoping to find opening bands just as entertaining as the “Digimortal” show…
Not the case. I have no idea who the 3 opening acts were, but they blew!
I went with 2 friends and we couldn’t believe they were opening for Fear Factory. We just sorta sat around making fun of their over-the-top hilarious lyrics and generic music. (all while a massive fat man who looked like he could eat Dino moshed around high-as-a-kite crashing into people and sweating liquid cheese. Eventually we got so bored with the opening acts we just tried tripping the chunky-junky just to see if he still felt pain or could get up without assistance from a crane.)

When Fear Factory finally came out after 3 shitty opening bands they were great, but we were already so bored to tears after enduring the opening bands that it kinda sucked the life out of the whole show.

If you think the above are true and valid statements, you may be suffering from delusions of grandeur (or narcissism to an unhealthy degree), and psychological help is definitely necessary.

I’m sure you have a snarky, one-sentence quip to come back with, but you lose. Do us all a favor and fix your close-minded, self-important, condescending worldview. It’s doing nothing for anyone. And this is not because you don’t like Fear Factory; that is your right. It’s your general reaction to everything you don’t like, as well as everything other people do like (which you don’t find acceptable).

Gave you a list of the DOZENS of influential, important metal bands that toured with Fear Factory in the past, to strengthen my point that Fear Factory cannot be equated with modern shitty deathcore (as you did), since influential important bands don’t consistently take shitty bands on tour with them.

Mocked you again for your close-minded , and your refusal to accept any music with even the smallest shred of commercial marketability.

Discussed who FF toured with last time they made a “comeback” (for Archetype), and how they have chosen far worse touring partners this time around.

There are dozens of SMART, well-versed metal fans on here that like Fear Factory in addition to tons of other quality bands (even some of which you might enjoy…imagine that).

Perhaps your impressions of a band are wrong, or misguided for once. Are all your statements regarding Fear Factory based on your listens to “Digimortal?” Maybe that is the issue.

Your views on music are so childish. They are basically as follows:

Don’t be upset because you were still swinging on your mother’s teat when “Soul of a New Machine” dropped. I was like you once: hard-headed and hating everything that was liked by more than a handful of people, going against the grain just to say I was, and generally being close-minded while preaching my uniqueness and superior taste. It didn’t work out; all I did was alienate myself from plenty of good music and good people. Fear Factory has toured with the likes of Sepultura, Machine Head, Sleep, Sick of it All, Megadeth, Brutal Truth, Cannibal Corpse, Cathedral, etc. etc (have you heard of these bands? I forgot that they may be before your time, or perhaps not underground enough for you). I really don’t think these essential acts would have toured with a shitty, trendy deathcore band; your comparison is idiotic.

Back to the conversation at hand…as someone that enjoys FF, I also think this is a HORRIBLE choice of bands to bring around (other than Periphery, who are good, albeit a bit overrated, especially ’round these parts). There are so many better choices I can’t even name them all. When they tried to make a comeback the last time around (with “Archetype”), they played with some quality, proven bands (Mastodon, Chimaira, Lamb of God, SYL)…guess they are dumping that philosophy in hopes of hoping on the trendy-band express. :/

Winds of Plague is the reason I didnt go see Hatebreed and Chimaira while back. fuckin hate that generic garbage.
