OCEANO TAKE THEIR BAND DRAMA TO NEW, UMM, DEPTHS ON MYSPACE

…..AS some of you may or may not have heard, Guitarist, Andrew has parted ways with Oceano. This decision was reached through personal as well as minor quarrels amongst the band. We wont go too much further into detail as it seemingly is not a band issue any longer.

If we’re to use MySpace blog comments as our guide, the fan reaction to last week’s news of Andrew Mikhail’s less-than-amicable departure from self-proclaimed deathcore beef-bringers Oceano was generally postive. In a post marked “Andrew Leaves Oceano” the band acknowledged their former guitarist’s public denouncement of the group before assuring fans that tour plans were not changing in spite of this. Scrolling down the page, however, it seems Mikhail wasn’t entirely happy with the comments being made. Using the presumably Outkast-referencing handle “andrew3000.” he replied directly to Oceano saying:

Well, to each their own! Mikhail has been tweeting in his typically cryptic fashion about upcoming projects and taking vanity TwitPics of himself, while Oceano, tight-lipped on naming his replacement, took the opportunity to announce a whole slew of Spring tour dates with Bleeding Through, Born Of Osiris, Sleeping Giant and Legend. All those dates below.

          I don’t really like any of those bands, but it seems that bands like Opeth, BTBAM and even Radiohead and Muse all get heads-up on this site. You can maybe try Pitchfork, but if you want indie music I prefer Tiny Mix Tapes. These are both review sites mostly. As for blogging, well, look around. The indie crowd are more active bloggers, it seems, so finding someone you don’t want to stab shouldn’t be too hard.
          Gotta agree about the breakdown as rock-banging. Brutality is a risk, and if it fails it fails hard.

            hey man thanks. im not into indie, but thanks anyways. i like this site becuase it has articles about psyopus and dillinger and all that jazz(pun not intended), but i cant find stuff about fear before or a few other bands on here. thats cool though ill look around. yeah, breakdowns arent bad, and niether is stuff in 4/4 but stuff like that can get old, ecspecially when its repeated on an album for an hour. and no offense to people who like oceano or the myriad of bands like them. i, by no means, am saying im any better for not being into it. its just not what i prefer to listen too.
