SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO START OFF YOUR TUESDAY: INDUKTI

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at 10:10am by

MS reader Mike Morreale sent us an email yesterday about the Polish band Indukti, and as it turns out Z. Kirill sent us one back in October too but we snoozed on it. Second time’s a charm, I guess, because I’m really digging the proggy metal ambiance of Indukti’s sound. If you enjoyed yesterday’s recommendation of Cloudkicker I’m betting there’s a good chance you’ll like this too; though the two bands are markedly different in composition and Indukti are way more… far out… they do share a certain aesthetic.

Here’s their track “Ninth Wave.” Check out more music from Indukti on their MySpace page if you’re so inclined.

Wow… this is really good. I’m definitely going to be checking these guys out further. And while it doesn’t really sound like Cloudkicker, I can see the comparisons.

    Also, SAXOMOPHONE.

That’s actually a trumpet. As a jazz trumpeter, I heartily approve of this song. I’ve been trying to find a place for the trumpet in metal for years, and this really succeeds.

grover, in your posts you always come across as rather young and maybe a little green. but aren’t you married or something?

Not sure where this was going at first. This shit is awesome. Melodic , emotional, HEAVY!!!! Everyone has to give this a listen all the way through, then hit there my space!!

Really great stuff! Sounds a bit like something between Intronaut and the more mellow moments of Ihsahn’s After.

  • You Don’t Know Me

Sounds like if Porcupine Tree and Opeth formed a band that decided to get even more experimental with their music. This is awesome. Their first album S.U.S.A.R. is available on iTunes for $6.93 if anyone is interested.

So fuckin wierd. The track Tusan Homichi Tuvota from these guys was playin on my itunes as i came across this post. Good band. Dug em for years.

The second album is better to me, both are a great mix of metal/classical instrumentation. Idmen definately has a more Sleepytime Gorilla Museum feel than S.U.S.A.R.

“Hawk Kills Chickens. Hawk Kills Rabbits.”

Doesnt remind me of Cloudkicker(which I fell in love with since you posted about). I could do without the trumpet though.

  • noam

    Amazing! Another amazing polish band

  • Canucklehead

I agree, this sounds nothing like Cloudkicker, but still good nonetheless.
